He never was good or bad to begin with, He was just following his own justice, like many other antagonists. Naruto just renewed his hope and made him remember Jiraiya ideology, the ideology he grew up with. I hate to be repetitive but that's what i love about this manga and makes the story so perplexed; there are no classic heroes, who are good just because they're good, or antagonists who are bad just because they're bad, everyone is following their own ideals, and from their point of view those ideals are righteous. Those factors make this manga unique and deep.

I don't think it was being "good" or "bad" because Nagato wanted peace too. He just was going about it in a different way.

So I won't say that he just "turned" into a good guy (since he wasn't good or bad; it's all subjective), he did that as his last act because he believed Naruto was going to find the peace he wanted—the type of peace Yahiko would have wanted.

I think many of you don't get Nagato's ambitions. In a way he wanted to make the world grow up through pain.

Nice. But it is based on the respective of each invidual. In my eyes Naruto is the bad guy and Nagato/Madara/Obito are the good guys cuz they want to create a world of peace and all Naruto does is destroying these peace and just wants to become Hokage ...

doesn't matter nagato is a criminal and killing the people he revived back won't change that. But, your right he wanted peace and took another course of action to do it but, if he was still alive he would still have to pay for what he's done.

His definition of peace was to bring other pain so they should see hatred (and more), and this is something he believed in 15 years or more. It's like me believing that gay people are dangerous then a random guy tells me that gay people are not dangerous... Yes it was plot

And no I don't hate gay people, it was an example

He was good, you have to remember that he just wanted to bring peace, however... When Hanzo forced him and Yahiko to kill each other, he saw the side of hatred that he fought so hard to stop.

Nagato was just a normal kid that had the un-fortune of being part of Madara's plan..... He wanted nothing more than to protect and help his best friend "Yahiko". He made his dream's the same as Yahiko's after seeing the the effect that pain caused him, when he saw his parents get killed for no reason.

Nagato was following Yahiko in his path to bring peace, when he was dead.. He must of though it was his duty to carry on the legacy of his friend and only family.

It's true his methods were cruel and maybe they weren't exactly merciful however, his intentions were pure. He fought that by making people suffer pain the way he did, they would fell the same lose which would lead to them seeing the reasoning for Nagato's actions which he thought were justified.

I believe that's why he consistently said "Those who do not understand true pain can never understand true peace."

Naruto on the other hand knew that by inflecting pain would only bring more hatred. Naruto taught Nagato that if you cause hatred your just as bad as the thing you hate most.

Naruto merely In-lightened the once bright spark of love that lied within the Heart of Nagato.

"I ... will believe in you ... Naruto Uzumaki ..."

He was evil, the only reason he got away with killing all those people was because he was Stronger than them, he was a bully. If you didn't believe in what he did you would be killed.
