Chapter 2
Stay Strong

Previous Chapter

Fear. It was in the very core of his soul. The boy couldn't move a muscle it was like his body was frozen or something or someone was forcing him to stay put. Eerie sounds screamed in his ears. The boy was nauseated he felt like gargling out his intestines But a motherly voice forced itself into his brain. It was his Mother's last words. "Mommy will always love you, now run." His eyes widened and he was able to move again. Grasping his stuffed animal tightly he turned in the opposite direction of the crazed man and darted away. Exiting the house he sprinted towards the moon which soon be the sun in just a few hours.

A group of masked men walked in the house of the deceased parents, they were wearing odd masks. It had a Raven face on the canvas. Raven let out a sigh and turned towards the group of men.

"The kid, I know you saw the brat run. Kill him, no one will be spared. Jackdaw's revival depends on it." The men focused their attention on the toddler. Soon enough the men were chasing after the helpless boy.

The boy noticed that he was being followed. He wanted this madness to end, this torture of constant fear in him. Tears would still be streaming down his cheeks. His disturbing cries were left un answered. Suddenly he was grabbed by forearm and pulled into a store. There wasn't enough light to make out his face he had no idea what now faced him. Pulled behind an aisle, he fell to his knees. "What do you want?" The boy's voice more fragile then before.

"Don't worry everything is going to be fine." Surprised at the individual's voice he looked up.

The siloutee voice was calm and squeaky, a voice of a child. He sat on his knees too. The frightened boy realized that this one person might not be a threat to him. The blonde, obviously elder child who seemed to be at least 12 years old had a warm smile on his face he looked at the toddler petting his hair. His blue irires comforted the boy.

"Got it? Everything is going to be alright. What's your name?" Feeling safe with the blonde he answered wiping tears from his cheeks with his delicate hands. "Treston." The blonde smiled once again. "Hi Treston, I'm Bradley. I'm a friend. You don't half to be afraid anymore. The only way were going to get out of this alive is if we stay strong." Treston nodded obediently. Treston didn't know the male but for some odd reason he felt safe.

The blonde motioned him to stay behind him, follow his lead and stay quiet. Bradley and Treston made their way out the back door out of the store and into the streets where the aftermaths of deaths occurred The air was filled with a blood stench it was ominous. But as soon as they left the building the men that Raven sent out to kill the two boys were standing right in front of them all holding a huge blade. It was no doubt they were ordered to spill blood. Treston felt the feeling of fear enter him again despite Bradley's company.

"Treston, close your eyes!" He did exactly that, Bradley calmly let out a sigh then closed his eyes.

When Bradley opened them back up, the innocent appearance he once had on that cute face was now gone. This twelve year old boy had a face of death, his sharp blue cold eyes now pierced into the men's very soul. Bradley's child like voice became a little raspy but still innocent.

"Play Time..." Treston didn't respond or hear the comment only focused on staying alive and following his new friend's wishes. The men's muscles tensed up, all four of their necks began bulging up as if golf balls were swimming in there.

The substance in their neck that has just been created started to boil rapidly as if their was some type of creature begging to come out. Then four loud pops were heard, one after the other. Treston's hand now over his face crouching down afraid. Soon enough the men's necks had a gaping whole, blood rushed out, squirting in a huge stream of dark blood. One would ask who is this boy? What is this boy? They dropped to the ground in a matter of seconds. Their necks were now empty of any blood. Bradley turned over to Treston. "Keep your eyes closed Treston" The black haired boy did just that. Bradley now guided Treston into the opposite direction away from the bodies. "You can open your eyes now, that bad guys are gone." Treston slowly opened his green eyes and gazed at the scenery before him, no threat insight.

"What do you we now?" Bradley's attention turned to the rising sun the exit from this plagued city was sitting there just yards away. "We run Treston. We find safety."

The long haired man grunted and stood up from the chair he was sitting in, he lost his patience. "They can't handle a little brat? Useless ****s." Raven stormed from the house and went to search for the party he sent out.

It had been a significant amount of time since he sent out his henchmen so to speak. Stopping in his tracks his eyes widened in dis belief and confusion."How the..?"His eyes pierced a angered demeanor was shown. He didn't like to be played as a fool. But as he examined the bodies he found something that was not normal in the human world. All of his henchman's necks had a clean gaping hole, no instrument could create such a perfect hole. "Who ever did this isn't human. A sinister smirk appeared on his face. "Well then."

"Raven."

The long haired man was caught of guard. But it seemed he recognized the voice.

"Crow, what is it?" Raven turned around, in front of him was a tall man, at least an inch taller than him. His whole body covered in cloth. A black cloak wrapped around him, black gloves wrapped around his hands. A hood and high collar that completely hid his face, the only thing visible was his crimson red eye that glowed in the night, his other eye covered from the hood. Raven sighed.

"Is it time for the Revival?" Crow answered quickly in a deep and dark tone. "No, we have to wait a decade." Raven was surprised then angered. "A decade..? Are you ****ing kidding me." Crow's voice grew louder. "A decade is a small price to pay, to rise back into the Underworld. We'll be gods again. I hate being compared to humans as much as you do. But there is nothing we can do." Raven moaned. "Fine. I'll wait." Raven just remembered something. "There was a kid, he got away. And I think he killed my men. Or something did." Crow turned in the other direction and began walking away. "Irrelevant. Just prepare yourself, Raven. In a decade, darkness will be ominous." Raven couldn't help but show a smile, the comment Crow made pleased Raven. "I have no doubt, brother."

Chirping of the birds, cawing of the crows was peaceful. Unlike before the air in the atmosphere was calm and settling. The two boys walked on the side of the road across a pebbled terrain.

"A police station" Bradley tone sounded squeaky like usual.

Treston's eyes were filled with the emotion of relief. Finally a safe haven. They didn't know how far they walked to get here. Treston felt like his body was going to collapse at any moment. They reached the entrance, Bradley pulled Treston aside.

"I'm not going with you." Treston disagreed instantly he wasn't for it. "Bradley! Why?" The blonde boy smiled. "Because I don't belong silly." It was obvious Treston grew fond of his new friend he made. "Don't worry we'll meet again. Soon. Just remember, Stay Strong." Bradley turned and walked back towards the town. Treston gripped his teddy bear tightly and walked in a police station. Instantly, a young police officer approached Treston. The brown haired man jogged to him, his onyx eyes filled with concern. He crouched down petting his hair. Treston gazed at the badge that read Lt. Leon Mustang. The toddler began to shed tears as he finally knew he was safe. The officer picked up Treston holding the toddler in his arms.

"Don't worry little guy, everything is going to be alright. Just stay strong..."
