Should There be a New Akatsuki?

For the Naruto Epilogue, what do you see the group of villains as?

I mean, there has to be some conflict, and the Chuunin exams will happen, but what after that?

I think it would be kind of cool if there was a new criminal organization, or even a new band of Orochimaru followers. What do you think?

You know, since the Hiden novels are taking place during the gap between 699 and 700, its safe to say that something new happens with the akatsuki.. considering akatsuki hiden is the last of the hiden novels. It really interests me; who knows whos in the group, what their intentions are

Most of them got forced to join the Akatsuki like Deidara, Others wanted to join in themselfs such as Kisame and Itachi.

Nope, Akatsuki was created by the trio, influence by madara or not, it was created to be like FBI organization.

I liked how in the alternate world movie the Akautski were JUST mercenaries. Far from nice and trustworthy, but not manipulated or lied to, The did what they were paid to do--nothing more. Pein wasn't evil, Itachi was alive and so on. Made the movie worth watching to me.

No way. The Akatsuki had their time. Having too many copies of previous characters is one of the bland parts of this series. Kakuzu/Hidan/Deidara/Kisame are going to be in an upcoming novel anyway. Plus, I'm pretty sure that Kishimoto will allow more features (outside of the actual manga of course- like RTN, the upcoming novel, the 1hr Akatsuki story line he approved in the latest Naruto game, etc).

People prefer a single villain (Orochimaru or someone new) for the mini-series. Or, even none at all since it seems like it'll just be about petty daddy issues atm.

I doubt it. The Akatuski were mainly tools of Madara/Black Zetsu/Kaguya to revive the Juubi and herself. Now if you mean should there be another organization like the akatsuki then yes. But in all honestly what could they really do? Once Naruto or Sasuke get wind either one of them could completely and utterly obliterate the entire organization alone with no help whatsoever.

It'd most likely be Sasuke to do it too since he is out and about. He wouldn't even tell Naruto until after he buried their bones. That is the problem we run into with how powerful these two are. Without reviving Kaguya again. No one is strong enough to hold a candle so we would need to remove Naruto and Sasuke from the picture for this new organization to even build momentum.
