Not sure I follow.

As you know, Sasuke was only a late suggestion when the first Naruto pilot chapter came out from an editor (luckily he was very popular & led to some cool story developments but that's irrelevant rn)

but saying No Uchiha = No story is silly bc talking hypothetically if Sasuke had never been suggested then there still would've been a story, just a different one- like originally planned. That's all I was going for when responding to that one guy.

I'm personally not huge on how much we focused on the Uchiha (even though 2 of my favourites are from that clan) but there's plenty more world out there that could've filled that Uchiha-sized blank.

Kishimoto already said in an interview: he only added glasses to her design to make her look booksmart. Until you provide solid proof that her glasses actually impair her in anything at all, you can't use that as a argument.


Obviously :sdo: The only one who's there for her is Sakura. If Sasuke was there for her, she'd probably be burning things with katon and chidoring things. However, it was stated that she already has lightning/genjutsu affinity and Uchiha level marksmanship.


The only reason you're hating on her is because she's Sakura's daughter. She hasn't done anything that classifies as 'worthless', it's quite the opposite, actually.

"I went to the toilet" is a story. No, really, I am not throwing a jab your way. It is a complete story. The fact that the editors suggested Sasuke means that his story didn't have enough (and I am putting this in extreme layman terms) causality to craft a plot. So, he is correct.

Uchihas have the richest lore in the entire manga. Just the relationship between Itachi and Sasuke is multifaceted enough, let alone the entire clan. They have a lot of depth. Other clans are pretty worthless on this front. This gives the mangaka a lot of room to create various routes. Take the Uchihas out and you have your catalyst character, antagonists, causality, agents ... gone. What is left behind?

The opportunity and panel space to focus on and develop other similar subplots and relationships...

I'm not slamming the Uchiha's involvement in the plot here, the Konoha conflict is fantastic but hypothetically the series (even if not the one we know now) could function without them as it did in the pilot and for a handful of arcs.
