How can a child know what exercise should he do. School is a platform to put these things into his mind. How can a child know importance of exercise that he will do of his own will. Being healthy is the basic requirement of one's life ( :D).

Also as some are discussing about partly compulsory-ing the course. I would prefer to suggest that optimum amount of exercise as decided by experts should be made compulsory and if one wants to do extra like yoga, gymnastics, based on their own preferences, the facilities should be provided.

Yes, it should be compulsory. One team sport and one individual sport. Exercise raises life expectancy therefore it is good for the economy and living standards of the population. Team sport to develop ideals of teamwork (and for the social factor) and individual sport to develop self esteem and confidence.

That's what my school does. If anyone plays a sport they won't make them take P.E if they don't want to. Also at my school we can either run or play the sport that is being played. Half of the time they will have 2 different sports or run, you could ask to lift to.

Nah, it's up to the individual.

You shouldn't spoon feed people when they don't want it in the first place. What you may want is not the same as what other people want.

And what if i don't want studying maths, science or even anything. No child wants to study anything, yet he is forced to do depending upon what we know is right for his/her life.
And Health is more important than anything. (Is it?)( Though I would like not to have marks for these subjects )

Well, your word doesn't count for much since you can't compare P.E. to Maths.

Subjects of the mind are tools you can take and use throughout your whole life but the same can't be said for P.E. unless you're planning to enter the sports field.

I look to all my peers in my year group and how many of them have benefited from compulsory P.E.? No more than 10, out of a year group of 100. How many have benefited from the staple subjects? At least 95.
You just contradicted your first post.

I think it should, I enjoy P.E classes because I like being athletic, and getting into shape rather then being out of shape. My school has a requirement for it in order to graduate. I think it's 1.5 credits for my class.
