Both in universe and out, people have talked about the age of shinobi and ninjutsu coming to an end. People have talked about ninjutsu dying out and being replaced by modern technology and weapons like guns and cars. In universe, people have talked about it dying out for the sake of peace.
Now, my question to you is:
Would a future where the era of ninjutsu has died out actually be better than the current times? I question this notion for multiple reasons:
1. Ninjutsu can actually be a lot more productive than relying on technology. For example, water style is perfect for fire fighters. Medical ninjutsu would be extremely valuable in the field of medicine. Space time ninjutsu could trump just about any vehicle etc... This doesn't even get into KKG such as wood style which is great for building things and sharingan which is great for many things.
Note: I am not saying that modern technology shouldn't be invented. That would still be great for normal people. I just think that ninjutsu itself should be preserved for all the caveats it offers aside from just fighting.
2. They say that a world without ninjutsu would be more peaceful, but I honestly don't think so. People will be perfectly fine with fighting with guns, tanks, bombs, etc... Plus, getting rid of ninjutsu wouldn't necessarily get rid of all the political/economic factors that lead to wars/conflicts such as fights over land/imperialism, fights over resources, fights over certain government ideals (like how America hates communism), etc...
I'd say that maybe the current political system of the shinobi world should eventually be changed or ended, but not ninjutsu itself.
