Imo, things should stay the same/ Naruto would beat Sasuke. If Naruto purposely lost to Sasuke, that'd be like a father telling his arrogant child false accomplishments though the child desperately needs a reality check about their personal image. Naruto wouldn't have been a true friend, and Sasuke wouldn't have accomplished (power wise) so much. And besides, after seeing Naruto beat Gaara, Sasuke was going to break any time.
