[Discussion] Should Jinbei join the Strawhats ?

What role does Zoro have? He's literally categorized as ¨The Swordsman¨ when the others have ¨The Cook¨ or ¨The Navigator¨ with their names.

He's a friend of Luffy's, he's can give Luffy blood if he loses so much and vice versa, perfect symbol of Fishman and Human being able to cooperate, he feels slightly indebted to Ace to keep Luffy alive, Luffy already asked him, adding him increases the overall crew's fighting abilities.
Well, that's more of will he join than should. It's quite certain that he will, since like you said Luffy asked him and he feels indebt to Ace to protect Luffy. I don't see his character/personality fitting well with the others for some reason. I guess I'll just have to wait to see what Oda does with his charc.

Jimbe should be a part of the SH because
- his personality is really amazing and complicated
- his water-technique is probably among the most badass things in OP
- we have enough crewmembers whose weakness is water, how about someone who is twice as strong in seawater?
- his backstory is already explained
- he was already invited by Luffy, he even saved his life almost as often as Robin did
- he broke out of a prison and fought a war side by side with Luffy in the same day...
- he is a ex-warlord with a bounty HIGHER than Luffys (it is over 400 Million)
- we already have a Reindeer, so f*ck it why not a whale-fishhuman?
- most of the male fighters in the SH Crew are either scumbags who like to "play dirty" in one or the other way (Usopp with tricks and lies, Franky with his farts and Shogun form) or more or less gentlemen who wouldnt attack women (Brook less, Sanji more). WE NEED MORE BADASS FIGHTERS LIKE ZORO!!!

I think jimbea joining would be like Raleigh joining. Great to think about but not gonna happen. Jimbie is too strong to join the strawhats. He's either captain or first mate caliber and seeing as how zoro and luffy take those spots I don't see it happening. (Btw to the person that said zoro was categorized "the swordsman", he's actually first mate. BUT what I can see is jimbea making his own crew and flying the strawhats flag. Kinda how whitebeard had a fleet. I think jimbea will be luffys first step to owning a fleet.

I don't have an opinion either way, I'd be fine either way. To answer what position he'd be, he could easily be helmsman a position not taken by any member of the crew. iirc, Jinbe was the one at the helm when the crew was escaping ID.
With regards to his personality, I really don't see any issues with it. He's much more quiet and reserved than someone like Franky, but Robin isn't any less reserved. And I could easily see Oda put in a mini gag similar to Robins' morbidly macabre and grotesque comments. Yes, he'd be the oddball in the group by not being a total oddball, but Robin and, to a lesser extent, Zoro are both far less wacky, I don't see an issue of Jinbe's fitting in.
I do like Jinbe's character, I think he's loyal and well respected and an overall cool cat. I also think his being a fishman would be greatly beneficial. For all of the characters who have a weakness to water in the crew, having someone whose strength is water would be really helpful imo. I could easily see another situation like the one in EL where Kokoro ended up having to save the crew, and Jinbe would be very helpful if the crew were to be put in a situation like that.
Right now the crew is at 9 characters, I'd love to see Bart, Viola, and Jinbe join. The question is whether or not Oda can handle 12 SHs, as he's having trouble handling the current 9, but if Oda doesn't make more arcs like Dressrosa, sans maybe the final war arc, with a billion subcharacters and sub-arcs, I can easily see it working out. However, i would love to see a dwarf join at some point, perhaps someone like Wicca, though their gullibility really bothers me. But if Jinbe doesn't join, that would be fine too. I don't think Jinbe is necessary, though I do think he'd be a welcome addition.
