Not true, the show was just as good or better without michael scott. It became less... awkward humor.

The story focuses more on everyone, instead of Michael. Dwight gets ten times better.. (if thats possible)

season 8 is alright because Robert California is a really weird character and not suited for the show. However, season 9 is just as good as when Michael Scott was on it
