Should I really follow the stats?

I am always on Naruto wiki, and I was just wondering for those who go on the site regularly, should I follow the stats that are put from the data book? I look at some of the stats but some of them for me just dont seem right

You can follow them if you want to. I wouldn't recommend it though.

They have a basis of truth, but there's obviously too many variables.

The Data Book Stats describe a shinobi's potential of mastery in that category. What it doesn't tell you are techniques a shinobi developed nor their fitness against another. It's simply a template to show how good a shinobi is at something.

Their old stats ever since Part II started.

Certain characters, it will help to form an idea of their limits. Though they are outdated and most important characters aren't listed or need updating.

Databooks are too old and too many varieties are included since there are many different usages of speed, ninjutsu etc. You can check out but they would not be so much of a determining factor.

Also intelligence is not really dependable in databook; there are characters who have lower in intelligence department in stats but have shown much more intelligence feats than people who seem to have higher intelligence stats in numbers.

They are outdated, but they are still a reliable source. They are written by Kishi after all.
