Well I think the series is too eccentric ya know, too many wierd animals and wierd looking people. I've never been able to get attached to it but I've heard great things. Give it a try if you're willing to put in the time XD

watch the anime, i currently just started watching it and i love it. the first 100 episodes are rough though because of how old it is.

Yes!!You might find it a little boring at first but it gets great after a while.The first episodes are a little bad cause they are old,but it's worth a try.

Watch till where the anime takes you and then go read the manga

If you are into the dub I believe its one episode 252 now and from there you watch subs till around 600 episode(depending how long it takes you Lol )

After that just read through the manga till the end

Go ahead and just read through the beginning. After they enter the grand line, then you'll want to watch the anime.
Keep in mind the very beginning is more or less buildup, it continuously gets better and better.​

Dude read it so you get the full effect and don't have to worry about filler. One piece is rated as the best manga ever and it's definitely the truth. It has been running for more than 10 years and it hasn't even reached the climax yet. The character development and story lines are unbelieveable

Obvious bias aside....I think One Piece is an amazing manga. It has amazing quality in emotions, fighting, and humor. I don't think any other manga has made me laugh despite the arc being in a serious moment! And I don't think I've teared up as much with the character histories as I have with OP....I think it may even be the only manga where a Flashback is a welcomed thing...just because a good story will be comming!

Oh...and if you're new...watch the anime, and then when you catch up....haha after over 500 episodes....read the manga ^.^!

I would say you could almost watch the show and not even notice when some of the episodes were Filler....especially good fillers like the G-8 filler arc!

Watch it and once you catch up read the manga because One Piece is so crazy, and the anime is just overall amazing and stays faithful to the manga so I'd reccommend the anime, the voice actors everything is top notch

I guess it all depends on how much time you wanna spend. I havn't read it or watched it but I'm reading and watching Naruto and the manga will get you through much faster.
