All creativity is lost in the game. I build a zombie deck only to get crushed instantly by OP archtype decks. IDK I want to know whether to continue the game or play something else. Is there TCG that's better than Yugioh and give me reasons.

I don't buy the cards and haven't bought them since Chaos was introduced. But I still play it online with YGOPRO.

You literally have every card there is at your disposal, make as many decks as you want, and play online for free. So it gives you a lot more opportunity to experiment and have fun.

Fact of the matter is that a game like Yu-Gi-Oh isn't fair. Not anymore. Multiple factors in the game make it like that, as well as the players themselves and deck build choices. Konami has also played a large part in the way the game functions now. You can still enjoy playing the game, but not in the way that most people would want to. The game is extremely competitive nowadays, variations in deck builds and general archetype is not very far and wide. There are still ways to counter the builds that rule the game, and that's by building counter-decks. Basically, you need to build something that is designed specifically to counter as many opponent plays as possible. That's the way the game is nowadays. You're either one of the many players using one of a certain few archetypes and builds, or you're a player that's using a counter-deck. If you're not either of those, and you're trying to have fun playing casual, you're better off playing with a friend.

Yeah, it's a pain in the ass, i play on ygopro online which has all the cards unlocked and is free to play. it's better than wasting money on crap you like but isn't good enough to hold up to today's standards. as for other TCG, lately i've been on pokemon online, the game isn't completely balanced, but it's certainly more controlled than the nonsense yugioh has become. the only downside you have to either buy the cards IRL to input code or grind your ass off online for better stuff.

I stopped playing Yu-Gi-Oh! like more than a decade ago :pick: Only way for me to ever get back, is to have the exact same deck I used to have in my early teens.

This is very true. Every new creation of theres is simply making it easier to make plays now. Like summoning strong monsters gets easier as newer ways to summon them comes out.
