Throughout the years since I got into manga every other manga reader I see tells me to read or watch one piece and that it's even better than naruto some of them even say I'm done for not getting into it sooner and I think now is the time I start reading it so before I finally decide can someone just give me a summary of what the seers is about, I wanna know about the main character his abilities, the aim of the main aim in the story and what's good and bad about the series but no spoilers please.

Thank you

There are devil fruits who give the eater an ability. The main character ate the rubber fruit so he became a rubber man. His dream is to become the pirate king. On hismjourney henmerts other people seekung their own dream and founds a pirate crew. He meets and fights other pirates aswell as the marine, which is the police of one piece

The main character is Luffy, He aims to become king of pirates.

What's good about One piece:
1. Plot (Best story in all of manga/anime, so deep and we're just half way through).
2. Characters

What's bad:

1. Pacing
2. Art

Definitely. It's one of the greatest series of all time. I recently started watching One Piece a couple of months ago and I'm like one-third into the Sabaody Archipelago. Loving the ride so far. I recommend watching the series until you finish the Arlong arc at least and judge it from there, because the beginning is quite slow.

The story is about a guy named Luffy who wants to become a Pirate King (just like Naruto who dreamt of becoming a Hokage). He ate the Gomu Gomu fruit, one of the devil fruits out there which grants users insane abilities, which transformed him into a rubberman that allows him to do all sorts of crazy things. Throughout the story, Luffy gathers people as his comrades, on his quest to become the Pirate King.

The reason why I love One Piece is the depth of the characters. Each strawhat has a deep and sad backstory and they all have their own dreams or motives. It's fun to watch their development over time and they are all unique characters. But what I love the most about OP is the storytelling. Every arcs contribute to the plot in some way, as previous arcs can be heavily linked to current arcs. That's why I recommend watching all the canon parts. You can skip the fillers if you like, just as I did.

If you want to know what the story is about, or how good it is, just read/watch it.

I recommend it, but it's not for everyone. If you aren't a patient person, you may not get into it.

Luffy is the main character, his body is rubber because he ate a devil fruit. He wants to become the pirate King but has to overcome many obstacles. While on his way to becoming pirate King he gathers crew members who all specialize in something different. The opposition of the Pirates are the marines. High ranking marines either have devil fruit powers or haki or both.

The only problem I had with the series is that it failed to draw me in after episode 325. The animation and character design or art is nasty to me. I don't like the main character he is the definition of stupid but somehow people still listen to him and follow him.

Overall it is cool, but no one really dies. I want to see Luffy lose a crew member not his brother. I just watch amv's on YouTube.

The animation is disgusting, but the manga is much better.

Summary:

Gol D. Roger was known as the Pirate King, the strongest and most infamous being to have sailed the Grand Line. The capture and death of Roger by the World Government brought a change throughout the world. His last words before his death revealed the location of the greatest treasure in the world, One Piece. It was this revelation that brought about the Grand Age of Pirates, men who dreamed of finding One Piece (which promises an unlimited amount of riches and fame), and quite possibly the most coveted of titles for the person who found it, the title of the Pirate King. Enter Monkey D. Luffy, a 17-year-old boy who defies the standard definition of a pirate. Rather than the popular persona of a wicked, hardened, toothless pirate who ransacks villages for fun, Luffy’s reason for being a pirate is one of pure wonder; the thought of an exciting adventure and meeting new and intriguing people, along with finding One Piece. Following in the footsteps of his childhood hero, Luffy and his crew travel across the Grand Line, experiencing crazy adventures, unveiling dark mysteries and battling strong enemies, all in order to reach One Piece.

Some character's designs are not realistic, just my opinion though.

Don't watch Anime if you want realism!
