I'm thinking about picking up all the volumes of Hunter x Hunter. I haven't seen or read any of it.

All I've heard about this series is that it goes on hiatus all the time but it's an amazing series.

Do you guys think there's a chance that this series will just stop now and not have an ending or would it be worth it for me to pick up?

But is there a chance that it won't continue? I guess that's my main question.

I just don't want to invest in buying all the volumes currently out if the series doesn't come back

there is a high chance it wont get finished so
Such nonsense.

It will be obviously continued but Togashi is just stalling to write his story. You know, the content in one chapter would be the equivalent of 10 Naruto/Bleach chapters.

@Guilty Sparks,

You really need to pick the series and keep watching. It's amazing, like really really amazing.

You're better off with the anime, but the manga is great too. If you're a manga guy then go ahead, but I'm an anime guy.

Alright, I'll give it another chance when I have the time. I don't really have a preference over manga or anime. Sometimes one can be better than the other for certain parts, but I like to see both.

I watched the first 10 eps or so of the anime, and it was meh....

Actually Togashi said in an interview that he has only a few arcs planned after CA iirc. You can say that the series is close to being done. We already got Kurapika & Leorio being extremely close to achieving their goals, especially Leorio.

The 2011 anime is the way to go. It does seem "childish" at first but it gets dark pretty quick.
