The "newest" is always on it's way. If you wait until something just comes out you have to pay more for it as well as deal with any bugs the developers missed.

If you like Intel, take a look at Xeon. I don't know much about gaming rigs, but I run Xeons in my 3D workstation, and can't complain.

as for me there is no sense to wait because technologies are constantly developing and something that's new today will be old in the nearest future.

Well, actually I bought a 3570 (no k) a few month ago because I liked it's performance and I have a very good videocard, a GT 680, but I've heard that 3570k has intel HD 4000, a very good and economic solution for gamers who don't own a videocard. Regarding that new Haswell release in just a few weeks, well those come with Intel HD 4500 and they're claiming that it performs like a GT 650, but you must have in mind that if you buy one of those, you'll ave to change your motherboard & power supply too due to the new specs. So I guess that you better buy that 3570k.
PS-Intel justa nnounced three more gens of CPU's, that race never ends...stick to what you like!

Guys, please be informed before you give advice. Haswell comes out on June 4th... That's just a few days from now! And the pricing is identical or less than what's currently available. There is absolutely no reason imaginable as to why you'd buy the 3570k right now, unless you're extremely impatient.
