Yeah you can be both. Some writers literally scratch on the side while they do their career. IF their work is phenomenal and they rake in the cash from it, they quit their career and live off their success.

Cop definitely, on the side you can probably write and use your experiences as a cop to write something potentially great.

I'll write a book each day I have off. I'll publish it online. After being a cop for a year or two I'll promote to CID.

Tbh I'd become a cop. You'll spend time with cop friends, go on adventures, and carry a gun. LIKE AN RPG
