Should dreams be taken seriously?

I'm not talking about kids wanting to go to the moon.

I mean, like if you are possessed by ideas and hopes, wishes, dreams that are really important to you, the reason that gives life meaning, that kinda dream.

And it doesn't have to be big, it can be small things like just getting your own apartment ,being able to pay the rent.

But it can also be to succeed a certain career path, wanting to create something of your own.

Is that something that is completely disconnected to reality and the talent you need to actually get there? Or is it an indication you might actually have a chance of doing something you can be proud of?

I personally think pretty much any goal is obtainable as long as you do the work and understand what's needed to achieve it so will require knowledge and hardwork.
