Don't get me wrong. I think he's an awesome character but he should have died in the Quincy attack on Soul Society. This has always been a major problem with Bleach. Not allowing characters to die just because they add so much value to the series.(For eg. Kenpachi should have died after his first fight with Ichigo) If Kubo needed them for the plot, he shouldn't allow them to reach the verge of brink of almost just nearly dying and then bring them back. Its Ok if you do it once or twice but EVERY SINGLE TIME??? (And you can probably add Grimmjow to this list too)

Hell no.

Why should he die against such a weak Stern Ritter who was cut down by Yamamoto? That's an insult to his character.

Yes. Simply yes.

He was destroyed, he left everything to Ichigo...Kishi says, "ehh...well **** that I'll keep him for a power up."

Instead, let's kill Unohana for NO reason other than to power up Zaraki.....the dude was already killing Sternritter, and they used the excuss they need him to kill Sternritter to power him up. Not only that, but right after saying she'll fight the enemy...she goes and fights one ally and is instantly knocked out of the story -.-....all her hype to be built up as a tool to other means. Dissapointing.

Sorry about the side rant there....I like Unohana.

Hell no.

Why should he die against such a weak Stern Ritter who was cut down by Yamamoto? That's an insult to his character.

Actually...if you look at one of the previous chapters about Sternritter...As Nodt is actually apparantly alive....which seems like total B.S. and an insult to Yamammoto's character.

Besides...it wouldn't be an insult to Byakuya....Captain Commander is an absolute MONSTER compared to him IMO.

I also really like Unohana. Man, I'm also I'm mad she was secretly evil. She was one of the purest characters that was secretly the nastiest of them all...

Except As Nodt cannot die. He still has Byakuya's Bankai sealed, as is therefore needed for the remainder of the plot for the power to be used, or for Byakuya and the remaining captains to retrieve their power. In other words, it's not an insult to Yamamoto's power at all; As Nodt was cut down to the point where he couldn't even lift himself to attack Yamamoto, and then recovered on return to the Shadow Territory.

In reality, he would have been killed off right from Yamamoto's blow, but if that had happened, no purpose would have been served for the brutal fight between Byakuya and As Nodt, and it would have been just a waste of plot.

If you are an author, you'll understand why Kubo made those choices.

Yup, a lot of characters should have died but plot saved them.

Basically plot > logic.

Also, plot killed Unohana

I don't think he is dead but if he was, being killed by Yamamoto hardly qualifies as being weak.

Yeah, because As Nodt really put up a strong fight against Yamamoto *sarcasm*

Honestly, that logic is like saying if Sado fought and was killed by Juha Bach, he's instantly around their level.

Really I could have sworn it was Zaraki's Zanpakuto that killed her.

Why does being cut down by Yamamoto instantly make As Nodt "weak"? There's not many people who could take an attack from Yama head on and survive, Blut Vene or not.
