[Short Theory] Hashirama and Monkeys

Today we have witnessed the third and final sage mode that was revealed by Senju Hashirama.

As you can see in the spoiler, Hashirama went into Sage Mode. What I noticed was that his eyes changed. There is one animal I found in the Naruto verse that has the same eye. And that is none other than the Monkey King: Enma.

It would make sense because the final sage mode place is called the Humid Bone Forest, and Monkeys rule the forest. So I don't see how people would think he has Slug Sage Mode. If Slug mode really existed, Tsunade wouldn't have been trashed.

Note that this is all my detail speculation.

Conclusion: So if this is really true, then Kishimoto just downgraded Hiruzen even more.​

I would prefer that there is a monkey sage mode, sounds much more interesting that slug mode. Their eyes look alike but only slightly IMO. I could see Hashi training and joking around with monkeys, it would fit his personality in a plethora of ways.
Edit: About your conclusion, I think Hiruzen would have had this mode in his "prime" if it did exist. It would explain why Hiruzen was hailed as a "God of Shinobi".

Very well done! I noticed that he did look a little monkey like...I got a Tarzan vibe, and I wasn't sure why XD!

I agree....if a Slug Sage Mode existed it would have made sense that Tsunade would have used it. I also agree that Monkeys could be in the Humid Bone Forest...the Humidity instead of refering to a moist climate for Slugs, may instead refer to a Jungle like environement suitable for Monkeys!
