Here Itachi met a long haired Madara

But when Minato fought Tobi his hair short like it is now.

Can Tobi grow his hair really fast? Or did he use transformation jutsu to look like Madara? Or was Madara still living when Itachi met him?

If long hair Madara was still alive at the time Itachi met him then that means Kisame met the real Madara as well.

Dang, you put in some goood work, i never noticed the hair. Maybe tobi uses some kind of body reanimation like oro, combined with zetzu in order to live forever? concidering what body he uses his hair has an effect? just my thought, very interesting.

He died before Nagato supposedly awakened his Rinnegan, which was when he was around 10 years old, give or take. If we take a little look at the timeline of events, that must have happened around 30 years ago.
Minato and Nagato are around the same age group.
So we can easily come to the conclusion that Madara was definitely dead when Tobi attacked Konoha. :shrug:

Its also noticable that the short-haired Tobi fightning Minato is the old-funny Tobi, a serious one wouldnt say: "oh you know, its fun, its part of my plan ..."
And if this Tobi was/is Madara, why didnt he tell Minato when if asked? I mean he told everyone now and he was very sure to kill everyone back then.
Something is up with this two differnt Tobi.^^

Thanks. I was re reading the story Tobi told Sasuke about Itachi because i was trying to figured out why Madara would let Izuna die? If the reason Izuna gave his eyes was so that his kinsmen would't have to keep sacrifice their lives Izuna would't have to fight no more becuse his brother would fight for him but then i noticed the long haired Madara when Itachi confronted him.

I think that's nothing more than Kishi's will to confuse the reader.

We didn't know that Madara was actually dead back then, but we also didn't think that Tobi was actually Madara. Everyone had their suspicions. Everything concerning the relationship between Madara and Tobi was just weird.

You got it all wrong buddy. Itachi was 5 when Tobi had short hair and he attacked Konoha. Itachi was 13 when he met long haired Tobi. Eight years is more than enough to grow long hair.

It's a ploy. Kishi puts them from time to time just to throw off the reader.

I think the odd thing out of all of this is that Itachi,Minato and Jiraiya(even though Jiraiya never seen Tobi in person he suspected it was him that started that attack on Konoha 16 years ago) all thought it was Madara. That right there says something.

Hashi's cells. Real world laws don't apply in this situation,plus, his hair isn't even greying.
Purpose? Why can't people just grow long hair? Especially, when you pose as someone who had long hair.

Who else would they suspect? No, seriosly, put yourself in Minato's shoes and tell me the first person that would come to your mind after witnessing everything that Minato saw.

Look at Ino's hair her's grew from her shoulders to he hips in 2 and half years. Same with hinata. I'm sure 7 years would allow Tobi's hair enough time to grow to his hips.
