Really slow chapter, while it had some good character development - personally it felt a little dragged out :/. Chances are its basically Soma's win

The last panel of the previous chapter the third judge was about to announce his vote. And in this chapter he still didn't say it. This is stalling on a whole other level. And now we're going back to taste each others dishes again. COME ON !!!!!

Although it's almost certain that Yukihira won, why not give final confirmation.

I said a couple of months ago that the cook off's are cool but that I was more interested in the surrounding story than the actual battles. The ending of this battle is the perfect example. There is still so much more to do. In this rate it will take a 100 years to get to it.

And I like this manga but it doesn't have the potential to run for 10 years.

That's kinda contradictory as chapters like these are necessary as if it always ends up with "your dish is the best, you win", the shokugeki will end up being quite repetitive and monotone. It's kinda imperative for the surrounding story that these shokugeki are more than just a win/lose-thing. Normally though the result is announced first and then a more in-depth explanation is given, however this time it was the other way around.

Yeah, the fact that they changed it up this time keeps it fresh.

And I get that it needs story around the cook off. but the Hayama flashback and the honey expedition and the amount of naked judges and boxing panels could've reduced this fight from 4 chapters to 2.

It really is an inefficient manga. Looks pretty but doesn't have a lot of content weekly. And that they covered 116 chapters in 26 anime episodes also is pretty telling.

Well even if Azami doesn't kick him out of it, I got the feeling Hayama himself will resign.

Souma should have asked for a shokugeki so he could have joined the elite 10... why author!!!!

I doubt that there's any merit in Souma joining an E10 that's meant to be perfectly in tune with Azami's philosophies.
