That inspirational speech was fantastic. Seeing Erina getting so much depth now is awesome as well.
Really hyped for the next arc. I have the feeling it will be one of the best!

Erina took charge, that was unexpected. I wonder if Azami was expecting this development?

So in the promotion exams, do the best of the Freshmen take over the Elite 10 seats that the graduating Seniors leave vacant (and the sophomores obviously sit higher on the seats)?

I doubt it as the promotion exams are simply to go over to the 2nd year. I say simply, but this is again one of those milestones in Tootsuki meant to separate the gifted few from the masses. They already explained the ways how you can obtain a seat: either you win it via a Shokugeki or the Elite 10 Review Committee will scout you. Logically when an E10 member graduates, the committee will first look at the students who excelled at the Autumn Election among others, but I don't think you directly will end up obtaining a seat just by going a year higher. Unless there's a third way to obtain a seat, but I reckon there are a bit too many options for this to work efficiently. Of course it's possible that Azami is going to tweak this year's promotion exams.

Tbh I got goosebumps reading it as I watched her taking command like that xd really excited for the new arc to start.

Ikr? I didnt have the idea of her leading the charge against her own father but gotta love the character development. Also knowing Azami who has this "Aizen"ish type of vibe that he would pull the "I been planning ahead for this" line, I wouldn't be too surprised if he did. Though he did expect her to return to his side so he didnt seem worried about it so its kind of almost safe to assume he might have seen this coming.

Nah this is basically kind of a "finals" type of test as you'd need to pass it in order to go into the second year group.
looks like Erina finally chose sides :ilu:

This is gonna be real fun from now !!
Indeed!

In response to Cali, I wonder if the committee for the Elite 10 has been poisoned by Azami as well at this point. If the agenda of the committee is not with central, then it's so much easier for non-central elites like Yukihira and the finalists of the Autumn festival to get a descent consideration. That would present a potential problem to their plans. If it's been taken by Azami then central will still have the power of ordaining members into the 10.

I don't think that matters much to him. He was able to remove all the ones from the E10 that did not support him; the purge that followed nearly broke everyone who was opposing him and the ones that are left he is planning to remove during the upcoming promotion exams. If there is no one anymore who opposes him than the committee can only select from students that support Azami.

But remember what Isshiki ended up doing foreseeing his own boot from the elite 10. If you get people into the seats and leave them there long enough there can still be some damage done. And to say there will be nobody left after the promotion exams defeats the whole purpose of the Shonen series. We already know at least some of our higher tier heroes are going to survive to make it to the second and third years. Not to mention, if we do go into the next year there is the potential of new anti-Azami recruits coming in (unless he does heighten the criteria for getting into academy). At the very least our current cast of MCs and side characters have the chops.

Erina's speech would be for nothing if every potential anti-central supporter got booted.

Isshiki was in the E10 before Azami took over, so he couldn't really do much about him. Now however Azami has full control over the Council. And logically most of the main characters will pull through somehow, however that really doesn't change much on itself. Azami could sack three members of the E10 that didn't support him, so whether the committee is now pro or anti-Azami doesn't matter much.
