Jakai scrambled through his room, looking all over for his scrolls. God dammit. Of all the days to have trouble finding my scrolls, today has to be that day! Where are you??? Jakai then began scrummaging through his entire apartment. As he was on his couch, he quickly glanced at the TV cabinet and then realized it would be there. He opened up the cabinet with a smile on his face. He then picked up the scroll inside and put it in his bag along with the rest. Alright, now to get a move on. All of his scrolls were neatly kept in a big backpack. Jakai picked up a file regarding his student he was going to be teaching as he was walking outside.

Chakra is the combination of physical and spiritual energies. You can use ninjutsu and genjutsu by using chakra. Taijutsu can be augmented by using chakra to make your attacks strong and/or faster. Lightning is strong to Earth but weak to Wind, Lightning is neutral to Water and Fire. Water can be used to make Lightning jutsu stronger and vice versa.
Lightning chakra is hot like fire and faster than the other 4 basic nature chakras. Notable users of Lightning release are Kakahi Hatake, Sasuke Uchiha and Ay the Fourth Raikage.

Jakai nodded after listening to his student's response. Very good. Now, just for the sake of ensuring you have a thorough understanding, read these scrolls. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Let me know when you're done. Jakai then handed over two scrolls. The first one was labeled "Chakra | チャクラ" and the second was labeled "Lightning Release | 雷遁". Within the contents of the scroll were a thorough description of each.

Giving a pleasant smile, Jakai took out an additional scroll and handed it to Chriss. "This is the first set of techniques for Lightning Release. These techniques are pretty generic and simple, so I'm not going to ask much from these. Here's what I want you to do now though. I want you to use the generic Lightning Release Technique on the target I'll set up. It is the most basic Lightning Release technique, so it's the place to start. After performing it on the target, you're going to tell me any strengths and weaknesses to it. And tell me how you like the technique in general.
Jakai then gestured to Chriss, signaling him to proceed with the first technique.
Jakai then took out a scroll and placed it on the ground. He opened it up and then proceeded to slam his hand on the seal placed inside. A puff of smoke would appear and when it went away, there were several practice dummies that were scattered across the field.

Chriss nods and moulds lightning chakra in his hands. He then pushes his hands forward causing small lightning bolts to shoot out toward the practice dummy, leaving it slightly burnt and damaged.
Advantages
• Requires no hand seals
• Can counter Doton techniques up to C rank
• Lightning is a fast element, leaving hardly any time for my opponent to react
• If combined with Suiton jutsu, it can cause a numbing effect for a short time
Disadvantages
• It's an extremely weak jutsu and can be easily countered and overpowered by an Fuuton jutsu
• Isn't nearly as fast as true lightning
• Can be blocked by the person themself with only minor burns
Why do I like it? Because it's a decent jutsu to use against my rival since he is a Doton user. Lightning is my favorite out of the 5 basic elements so of course i'd like this jutsu.

• Can counter Doton techniques up to C rank
• Lightning is a fast element, leaving hardly any time for my opponent to react

"Alright, I want you to move on with the remaining techs. You can perform them, analyze them, like stating advantages or disadvantages and how you'd use the technique, or you can do both. Just make sure you cover each technique. If you have any questions, lemme know." Jakai then nodded his heads towards the dummies, signaling Chriss to begin whenever.

• Can attack multiple enemies
• Can be used to easily nullify the earth pillar technique

• Weaker jutsu that is easily countered
• Can be dodged by simply jumping or by moving out of it's attack range
• Won't do much to opponents
Why do I like it? It can attack multiple enemies and possibly paralyze someone when combined with Water

Jakai stood by as he watched Chriss perform the techniques and give off his explanations."Not bad. One thing you should note though, that one can't just "jump" away from any jutsu, so that can't be a disadvantage for the first tech. Also, be careful using it with water, since you my electrocute yourself. Anyways, congrats on finishing D-Rank Lightning Release. Let's move on." Jakai then took out his the next scroll, labeled "C-Rank Lightning Release". He opened it up and read the first few to Chriss.
He held up his hand and raised 1 finger. "Lightning Release: Electric Attack is a technique that creates a constant current of electricity that the user controls. It can split apart in order to hit multiple targets and since it's a streaming tech, the user is able to manipulate and control its movement constantly."
Jakai then raised another finger, holding up two fingers now. "Lightning Release: Electromagnetic Murder is a technique in which the user generates a wave of lightning from their hands. It can switch between a current or a simple surge. While the technique alone can only go short-range, if used with a water technique–carefully– it can go as far as long-range depending on how far the water reaches."
Jakai then raised a third and final finger. "Lightning Release: Lightning Strike Armour is that last tech I want you to try right now. Basically, you use your lightning chakra to coat your entire body. This makes it so that any form of contact that happens with the electricity will electrocute it. So if a rock hits someone while they are coated in electricity, the electricity will shock the rock. If another person touches the user whilst the technique is active, then the person will get electrocuted. This technique only lasts once, and while it is active, you can't perform other techniques."
Jakai then nodded towards Chriss. "Go ahead whenever."

Chriss charges lightning chakra in his right hand, then thrusting it forward, he releases a small wave of lightning that he uses to attack 3 of the dummies by controlling the wave and splitting it in 3.
Advantages
• No hand seals
• Can be controlled remotely
• Can attack multiple opponents if need be
• Can counter up to B rank Doton jutsu
Disadvantages
• Still weak to the weakest of Wind jutsu sadly
• Controlling the jutsu might make me lose focus on a different enemy, should there be one
• Can't be used to make very good puns
Why I like it? It can attack multiple enemies and be controlled with my chakra fairly easy

Advantages
• Can be used to block incoming kunai/shuriken that I don't have time to evade
• When fighting an opponent, I can activate this during my taijutsu
• If there is an existing water source that i'm standing on with my opponent, I can jump into the air and use the jutsu as i'm going up, to shocking the opponent severely and sending them falling into the water below
Disadvantages
• It's short range so it's not very helpful against opponents that fight at a distance
• Can shock myself pretty badly if it's raining or if i'm standing in water
• The opponent can simply use Doton Pillar to launch themself away
Why I like it? It's different and can be used well with water techniques

Chriss throws a shuriken at an angle so that it comes back around at himself. He then moulds his chakra and covers himself in lightning chakra to defend against the shuriken. "I kinda like this jutsu!"
Advantages
• Can block an enemies attack if I don't have time to react with something else.
• Can be used during it's turn to punch someone in the stomach for "shocking," results :th:
• If an enemy is attacking me from behind and I am focused on one in front of me, I can use this to block the attack from the enemy behind me.
Why do I like this jutsu? As I said, it's shocking. But on a serious note, it can be used to my advantage very well should I need to block something quickly.

Pleased with the performance, Jakai nodded but said one thing. "Nice job Chriss, but regarding the last tech, remember that momentum still comes into play. So if someone is planning on punching you and you don't properly block, despite electrocuting the opponent, you would still feel a bit of the force of the punch. So be sure not to use this as a heavy defense. Best to use against simple Taijutsu moves. Anyways, let's move on." Jakai began to cross out the techs that Chriss had completed, along with the ones that he didn't need to learn. He the read the next set of techniques to Chriss.
"For the first technique, you'll need to perform 2 hand seals and clapping your hands once near a cliff of some sort. By channeling your lightning through the edge of the cliff, you cause the structural integrity of the stones to falter, dislodging the stones and rocks and sending them down towards the ground. The main concern of this jutsu is that you'll need the right location. Hold on one second." Jakai then began to focus his chakra in his palms. He then slammed his palms on the ground, surging his chakra through the ground and raising the earth he was on 20 meters up. He then jumped down to the ground in front of Chriss. "Go up on that cliff and preform the technique. Try and get the rocks to fall down to hit and crush the dummies. Oh, and be sure not to hit me haha."

Chriss watches as his sensei jumps from the cliff. "Careful not to sprain your ankels Jakai." Chriss says jokingly.
Chriss then runs up the wall and forms 2 hand signs (Snake -> Upside down Tiger) then channels his lightning chakra in his feet for quicker effect, after which he releases it into the stone for lightly more devastating effect.
"All jokes aside, i'd step back if I were you. Chriss then jumps 2 meters in the air and as he is falling, he stomps the cliff which makes the loosened rock fall apart 7 meters down. After the rock starts crumbling, Chriss jumps backwards off the rock formation, doing several backflips before landing on his feet. Chriss quickly puts his right hand forward and releases his build up Lightning chakra in a cone shape, destroying the rest of the wall along with creating a small explosion.
Note - Only a little bit of dust would reach you. Can't be getting my senseis clothes dirt can I?

• Useful if the opponent is standing on the cliff
• Can be used decently fast
Disadvantages of the Avalanche jutsu
• Requires 2 hand seals
• Has to have an existing rock formation

• Can be used well to block in coming rock projectiles
• Can be used as long as I maintain it
Disadvantages
• It is a cone shaped blast so it isn't wide spread for multiple attacks
• Can possibly give the opponent an opening if they get out of my line of sight while i'm maintaining the jutsu

Jakai was amused by Chriss' humorous attitude. With a smile on his face, Jakai happily stepped back as Chriss requested. Jakai saw his performance and was quite pleased. Along with his explanation, Jakai knew that this session would be quite enjoyable.

"For the first, you're going to channel lightning chakra through a sword, causing it to levitate and then duplicate. Then, you'll maintain focus to manipulate the swords as you please. Hold one second." Jakai then took out his own sword and handed it to Chriss. Jakai would then step back and watch as Chriss would begin. "Be careful with this sword of mine. Go ahead and try hitting one of the dummies I set up earlier."
"This last one is a nice tech because it's omnidirectional. By channeling lightning chakra within your dominant hand, you should be able to generate an electric current on and around your forearm that emits small bolts of electricity. You'll then slam your palm into the ground, releasing the electrical energy to discharge an omnidirectional current in a short range radius."

"The final techniques for C-Rank are Lightning Release: Lightning Blades Levitation and Lightning Release: Electric Discharge Palm. Jakai then proceeded to explain to what each jutsu was and how to perform it.
"For the first, you're going to channel lightning chakra through a sword, causing it to levitate and then duplicate. Then, you'll maintain focus to manipulate the swords as you please. Hold one second." Jakai then took out his own sword and handed it to Chriss. Jakai would then step back and watch as Chriss would begin. "Be careful with this sword of mine. After his performance, Jakai took out his scabbard as Chriss tossed back his sword. Thanks to his eyes and own natural ability, Jakai managed to hold the scabbard precisely enough that the sword would land straight into it. He then placed the scabbard back to the side of his waist.

Chriss decides to get a little payback for the punch to his gut. So he releases his lightning chakra in front of him in the shape of a dome, then punches his fist forward, sending the dome toward his sensei.

Jakai smiled at Chriss's tenacity. At the sight of the oncoming lightning attack, Jakai passively activated his Sharingan and then countered by performing the same exact technique back at Chriss's tech.

Once awaken, the pupil turns red and a single tomoe (巴) seal appears around the center pupil. As the user masters and evolves their eyes, the tomoe (巴) seals increase, topping 3 per eye. The main ability of the Sharingan, like any other Dōjutsu, is to enable the user to see the flow of chakra. After the tech, Chriss stated the advantages and disadvantages, which unfortunately disappointed Jakai. His mood shifted from happy to a serious. When Chriss walked towards Jakai to high five him, Jakai reciprocated and accepted the high-five. With his Sharingan however, Jakai easily noticed Chriss focusing chakra in his other hand while they were still high-fiving. So, Jakai gripped Chriss's hand tightly and surged lightning throughout his body, passing it through into Chriss and paralyzing him. This also stopped his technique from hitting Jakai.Type: Offensive

It can be used as an omnidirectional attack or be channeled through weapons, the ground or other conductive mediums. Because the electricity isn't focused, it doesn't kill on contact, instead it has great numbing and paralyzing effects. To channel Nagashi through a medium, the user needs to focus the technique into one of his hands which will then be put in contact with the medium and can only choose to either do a widespread attack throughout his whole body or to channel it into something; he cannot achieve both usages at the same time. Despite not having much destructive or damaging properties, Nagashi can be used to destroy low rank earthen and wooden structures and even negate chakra on the ground to stop high ranked earth and wood techniques. It has also been noted that Lightning Specialists that have mastered Lightning to the highest degree can resist total paralyzation, although they still feel the pain and numbing effects.
Note: Paralyzation lasts 1 turn if sucessful but is ineffective against bios who have a primary Lightning Specialty.
