Help Itachi to awake MS. I think Shisui wanted to avoid the civil war that was coming between Uchiha and Konoha, and that's why he wanted to use KA probably to control Uchiha leaders to stop it. But Danzo didn't wanted things goind on like that, so when he saw what Shisui intended to, he quickly came to steal his eye. Shisui only escape barely

After that, Shisui who knew Danzo would have probably come again to take his other eye, he decided to give it to Itachi, but that wasn't the only reason. I think he also wanted that Itachi receives a power up by seeing him dying(either by Itachi killing him or he kills himself) so that he could awake his own MS and do a better job than himself.

You could even notice that the first time Itachi awoke his MS was after he killed Shisui(and Sasuke noticed it). So it's probably the other reason why Shisui decided to kill himself

Nice. Or it could be the opposite. Maybe he thought he would control every1. Or he just wanted the eye for himself

It's been explained on manga why he did that what he did, protection, didnt want nobody to use he's eyes for bad things etc etc.
