I saw another member state this just now as a joke but then I realised, that is TOTALLY plausible! Tobi killed Itachi's lover we're told and also at the same time Itachi just happens to know everything about Shisui and his jutsu? I mean, did you ever see anybody else around Itachi's age group in the Uchiha? Actually scratch that, did you ever see any GIRLS in the Uchiha clan at all?!

It's not much to go on but it is very, very possible. I actually think this would add more to Itachi's character and make him much more likeable and deep.

What do you guys think?

Yes, they were butt friends. Orochimaru knew he was gay (hidden/DL) and tried to join but Itachi put him in genjuts swearing not to tell anyone. Itachi later found out he caught HIV and his health was fading away.
