Danzo was a replacement for a fix amount of time, he isn't a hokage by any means, Kakashi was the 6th Hokage.

He won through plot so the plot could give him the 2nd most OP Genjutsu so he could use it one time but have it fail due to unforeseen circumstances?
Or do you mean Shisui losing at all was plot? Shisui lost because he was saving it for his stupid ass plan to stop the Uchiha coup, and Danzō took advantage of that. There was no "plot" in either case, just unforeseen circumstances and self-inflicted limitations.

Except Koto doesn't require eye contact, nor is it detectable unless someone was using a dojutsu. :lol

So? Shisui will waste KA on a clone & there was never stated that breaking out of KA needs Dojutsu, when the victim realizes that he's under Genjutsu it will gets broken automatically.
