In this panel Itachi says that shisui's eye can't be used for another decade

My question is does this apply to shisui himself? Since they are his eyes in his body i figure he's the only one who can use them to their fullest potential, I doubt he had a ten year limit on his eyes, seeing as how he used his abilities and people from other villages knew about them also he couldn't have been over 20 years old, and i doubt he awakened mangekyou as a small child.

Its stated that shisui is a little older than Itachi as they trained together and shisui died before the massacre when Itachi was only 13 and since they were close in age shisui couldn't have been older than 18 and I think that's pushing it.

If we even half the cooldown, He couldn't have used it more than four times, and that's me being generous. If that were the case there are a few questions

What happened to him at 7-10 years old?
How you g did he graduate academy?
How could he possibly fit into the timeline?
The correct answer is, by portrayal, Itachi and Shisui are about 18-21 at the time of the massacre. This was retconned when Kishi got too precise, and hadn't thought it out. Their designs are not prepubescent, or young. Itachi had the build of a grown man. They had to make him younger than Kakashi, and older than Sasuke, while maintaining a closeness in age to Shisui and having Fugaku being in Kakashi's generation.

The result was the timeline of the Uchiha Massacre being screwed.

True, when i first watched the anime as a kid i thought itachi was 18 or older in Sasuke's flashback, he didn't look 13 at all, the difference between boys 13-18yrs old is massive as puberty is in full force. The timeline and some of the flashback stuff issome of kishi's weakest writing

Shisui was stated to be one year older than Itachi who was thirteen during the event's of the uchiha massacre. Meaning Shisui was 14 when he died.

Ot: No the "10 year" cooldown Definitely doesn't apply to Shisui himself, for several reasons.

1. Being that Koto was a genjutsu known & feared to be the strongest genjutsu from Shisui of the shunshin's MS. Obviously just using it on one person isn't enough for it to have garnered it's hype.

2. It having a 10 year cool down would mean Shisui would have gotten his MS at a very unrealistic age of 3-4. In the manga it was only stated Shisui couldn't use Koto in one eye for a little while. I'm guessing a couple hours to a day for practical use.

3.Shisui is an Uchiha & the true owner of the eye's. It's also been stated countless times in this manga. That dojutsu "eye's" show their true strength when in a pair.

4.Itachi could have been placed in it, given he knew so much about the technique, & is incredibly perceptive. Analyzing techniques fully on his first encounter with them.

Who else's mangekyo has a cool down that long? It makes more sense to believe that without the user's acutal body/chakra, the eyes become one-shots that need to recharge

Wtf? They would regularly train together, having multiple sparring matches."

A transplanted eye ability is very limited in comparison to the actual owner.
