they went out like war heroes indeed, didn't expect that at all..

When i first saw Itachi beheading them, i thought they were under some kind of genjutus, the way they didn't look at sasuke when he came in etc

please explain, what did these two give up that Itachi and Shisui didnt?
Now also ask, what did Itachi and Shisui give up that Jiraiya and Naruto did?

There are differences, Jiraiya and naruto for the greater good etc, but so have itachi and Shisui - for the greater good, what your idea?

Minato is one of the most respected, not just in the Hidden Leaf, but throughout the shinobi world; his flee-on-sight order is a testament to this fact.

But I agree; Itachi + Shisui are unique in that they didnt seem to inherit this "Will of Hate" or w/e from their Uchiha ancestors.

i find their role as the sacrificial heros from the shadows more respectable than the generic "love will find a way" bathe in the praise of those you protected generic protagonist hero

they received no love, no admiration, itachi even took on the mantle of traitor and criminal even after his immense sacrifices, i just find thats the harder road imo, so i respect them more, more so itachi, but yea, everyone gets respect form who you listed, just in different ways
