Hey, first post I've ever done. Great site. Please take your time and read this through and let me know if there are any faults in my theory.
So, my theory is Shishui Uchiha is Tobi. Here are some key facts to support my theory:
1. Shisui was noted to be one of the most talented members of his battle-excelling clan. He had earned the nickname of "Shisui of the Body Flicker", possibly implying that he had great mastery of the Body Flicker Technique. We have seen how well Tobi uses The Space–Time Migration technique, as well as a (forgive me, i know not the jutsu name) hologram like jutsu.
2. Shisui was instructed by the Konoha Military Police Force to keep tabs on Itachi. Soon afterwards Shisui was found drowned in the Naka River with a suicide note stating that he was tired of carrying out the clan's duties. Itachi later told Sasuke that he did kill Shisui and forged the suicide note, all in order to awaken his own Mangekyō Sharingan. Shisui's corpse has apparently disappeared, as Kabuto Yakushi cannot locate it.
3. He was also hailed as one of the most powerful genjutsu users of the clan. Another testament to his prowess is that Kabuto Yakushi wanted to reincarnate him for the war but failed to find sufficient DNA samples. When Kabuto brought this up to Tobi, Tobi said to not push his luck.
4. Shisui was one of the few members in the clan's history that was able to awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan. It granted him access to powerful genjutsu techniques, the strongest of which was a unique genjutsu noted to be of the highest calibre: Kotoamatsukami. This technique allowed him to enter a person's mind and manipulate them by giving them false experiences, making it seem as if they were doing things on their own free will; the victim wouldn't even notice they were being manipulated. This falls in perfectly with Tobi's Eye of the Moon Plan.
5. Shisui was close to Itachi and ANBU, so he had to know all of the details of the Uchiha Massacre. As far as motives, i am unsure. All of the similarities, size, hair, abilities all seem to point to him as a likely theory.
Please respond, let me know any holes in the theory, as im sure there will be. But please, no Obito is Tobi post. We all know its not him, too predictable, no motive, the fight against Minato proves his age doesn't match up. I know it may not be him, just giving a suggestion.
