Shin's obsession with Itachi...

Was it ever explained of which version of Itachi was Shin Uchiha obsessed with ? Did he found out the truth about Itachi or was he fond of the "Evil" Itachi, the Itachi - who killed his clan as to measure his abilities. Considering his ideology "seeing conflict as a necessary component of mankind's evolution", it can be assumed that his admiration was of the later, "Evil" version and not that of the "Peaceful" version of Uchiha Itachi.

I'm going with he idolized "evil" itachi, like you said the ideology points more towards that. Plus the real itachi was a man more dedicated to his village than hashi himself, shin was more about the power of the uchiha(like "evil" itachi pretended to be to sasuke)

I think Shin may've been a clone of shisu because Ao states he sensed Shisui's chakra in Danzo's arm and iirc Oro said Shin was where Danzo got his arm from.

To be honest Shin's obsession of Itachi totally conflicted with his ideology of human evolution what Itachi did for humanity was selfless while Shin's is selfish...If he was truly obsessed with Itachi we probably wouldve seen him right part 2 of Shippuden after Itachi's death
