Shin's mangekyou sharingan

The wiki says that Shin's jutsu is kamui, but to me in the panel, it didn't look like shin was using kamui, but it looked like the mini-juubi like thing (which seems to be associated with Shin's father rather than Shin himself) was the one using kamui. Look at this panel:

To me it seems more like Shin's jutsu is making that giant shuriken thing and controlling that. Do you guys think that I simply looked at the picture the wrong way, or do you agree? (It is interesting that the mini juubi had the same MS pattern as Shin though.)

Well, I seem to recall that according to some old databook any MS user can learn Kamui

it is indeed the minion who uses kamui, but since their MS have the same pattern, the wiki user simply assumes they belong to the same set of eyes

Well I'd assume shin can also use this "Kamui" like ability since the juubi like thing shared the exact same MS pattern as him. One of shins eyes can use S/T while the other seems to be able to control metal objects?.

There is no drawing mistake in Naruto for the eyes
