I have seen in this manga repeated times this phrase "a ninja value is not determined by how he lived rather by how he died".
Keeping this phrase in mind, which ninjas demonstrated to be valuable at the time of their deaths?
note: we´re not taking account of the things they did ir didnt do throughout their lives rather by how they died.

Kisame had one the best, most shinobi-like death.
IMO

"self-sacrifice… a nameless shinobi who protects peace from within its shadow…" was the true mark of a shinobi.

Itachi (obviously) - emphasised by how he lived his life prior to this death post-massacre. It should go without saying that I'd include Shisui too.

I quite liked Danzo's death. His fear/shame over death and sacrifice when he was younger, how Hiruzen was immediately willing whilst he hesitated. I like how how it came full circle for him in that regard, that he made his choice to try and take Sasuke with him. I find it somewhat redeeming for his character, that he attempted that.

Konan - I loved her (last) stand, the fight against Obito and her death, pretty well written.

Jiraiya - nothing says shinobi more than being murdered by your own (favourite) student.
... so I guess I'd add Hiruzen and Orochimaru to that list too lol.

Nagato (revived the entre village), Itachi (died to give his brother purpose and his Mangekyo), Kisame (died to protect Akatsuki intel), Hiruzen (died protecting his village and took a huge toll on Orochimaru's plana for the majority of the series), Jiraiya (died trying to kill his student after what he became), Konan (died fighting to protect Nagato's will) and many others...

And Minato, Haku, Kimimaro and many others...
They died protecting What was important to them...

For me Kisame, Jiraiya, and Konan hold the meaning of that phrase
