It can alter itself to defend against different sorts of ninjutsu not to be impenetreble from taijutsu. Breaking a few ribs however is far from punching through. Tsunades only chance against an opponent in susanoo is to regenerate until the user is out of chakra. A feat that she would most likely handle no probs.

I don't think minato could do much against a susanoo, we haven't really seen anything in his arsenal so far to be able to break through it. FTG rasengan isn't enough. He'd prob run out of chakra by the time he breaks the ribs with a rasengan
