You know how the Uzimaki clan has jutsu that allows one to summon shinigami? What if this is because some of the Uzimaki have the death god kkg and are able to summon and interact with the shinigami? What if Boruto has this affinity and is able to summon shinigami like tailed beasts? This would be cool on so many levels. Mainly because it makes being an Uzimaki relevant to the plot ./The Jougan can sense negative energy which is a skill inherited from kurama. Yin Kurama was sealed within the shinigami. This connection would allow Boruto to have a much stronger than usual affinity to the shinigami allowing him to summon and use their abilities at will. The Shinigami summoning technique was made by Uzumakis, but we havnt seen a Uzumaki use the summoning before. So we can say for sure that it isnt just an Uzumaki thing.
A Kekkei Genkai is an anomaly in the DNA that allows the wielder to use unique techniques. The shinigami is a summoning so i don't think that they would be able to have a shinigami Kekkei Genkai.
The summoning technique is a S rank technique so it isnt just anyone that can use it and the tailed beasts are way different then any other creatures/summonings in the series. It whould be impossible to use this technique the same way the tailed beast are used.
What do you mean with "It makes being an Uzumaki relevant to the plot"? The Uzumaki is one of the most important clans in the series and is one of the clans that has a lot to do with the plot and story.
The Jougan has nothing to do with Kurama at all.
And the Yin Kurama wasnt sealed inside of the shinigami. Minato tryed ti seal Kurama inside himself and when he couldnt contain all the chakra he sealed one half inside himself and the other half inside of Naruto. The Shinigami was used to do seal Kurama away, but it didnt have the Yin Kurama inside of itself. There is no connection with the Shinigami and Boruto mate.
The summoning technique is actually space/time jutsu. There has to be an explanation of why the Uzumaki are the only clan that uses the shinigami summoning technique. This is probably the technique that made them known for sealing jutsu. Youre saying that shinigami cant be summoned like tailed beasts because no one has done it before? The Uzumaki clan hasn't been relevant since Nagato. Its been confirmed that the Jougan has an ability inherited from Kurama. The Uzumaki really arent that important. It may have been better if Naruto was a senju and the Uzumaki never existed. If it werent for Nagato no one would talk about them ever.
