Shino Aburname

Does anyone else think Shino is being underestimated? I recently watched an episode in part 1 with Shino, and I think a lot of people dont notice him ( I never really noticed him either ). However I think he was quite strong, in part one he even faced off against Kankuro, who was notably a strong Chunin. But in Part 2, Shippuden, he said his bugs will continue to adapt to anything they face, and if he continues to improve his bug techniques, i feel he could be Jounin level. What do you guys think about Shino?

Indeed he could be one of the better characters and we don't know because we don't get to see him that much

Yeah, his bug jutsu was really strange, but really awesome how it eats away at someones chakra. But yeah they really are underrated, so are a lot of other clans, yes and i feel like if we could see more of them in action we could see more powers, the same thing with different clans etc..

This is true. Torune was even praised by Obito that he was a good subordinate of Danzo. He even managed to tag Obito making him severe his own arm. Yeah they are definitely underestimated. If Shino learns to use his insects like Torune, he would be a force to be reckoned with.

Two Reasons:

Most characters from the original series are left underrated because the important battles are being decided by Kage level ninja... Shino is hard to put a rank to just because he doesn't fight often but I think he's at least a Low A-Rank and at most a High A-Rank and so are most characters from the old series.

The other reason he and others are so underrated is we don't see them that often and they don't get many fights.

Meh, elemental techniques can defeat him quite easily. His bugs are still bugs and they can't adaptif they're dead.

Very good answer. I think we dont get to see a lot of the other characters from part 1 because part 1 was the introduction to the whole naruto series, they had to show all the characters powers and who they are as a person and where they stand, but in shippuden it focuses more on naruto, the main character and where he stands, and where he will be, which i dont mind, i think shippuden is awesome, but there are so many more characters with insane powers. Also someone commented that his bugs wont adapt if they are dead, but if his bugs survive the attack, dont they reproduce more bugs that will be able to adapt to the certain attack?

i hope to see more of shino's ability along with the whole K11 when they arrive on the scene... shino is a good ninja, it's hard to give him a rank coz he doesn't have fights that let's us see what he is capable of.

I was talkin about Konoha 11 except Naruto :sy:
He'll eat choji chakra up
Neji might get him but after that his bug can eat Neji chakra also.. so probably result in a tie
Rock Lee he's fast but I believe Shino would out smart Lee he can also eat his chakra .. And his bug can poison I think too

Shino's bugs aren't surviving high ranked wind, fire or lightning. Dead bugs don't reproduce or adapt.

Konan nearly solo'ed the whole aburname clan with paper clones. Also shino still only has insect sphere and Insect clone - jutsu he had In part one. I like everyone from team 8 but shino's biggest feat is nearly dyIng from poison against part 1 kankuro (with only one puppet).

no. even in part one, his bugs were able to withstand and redirect the high pressured air in zaku's arm at close proximity.
his bugs would have tanked kankuro's poison bomb if it were in fact, a regular explosive. the fact that it was a poison bomb caught him offguard, but he summoned them in the mindset of defending them against an actual explosive. so i'm sure they could withstand fire or lightning. some, if not all of the bugs
