I think the shinju is symbolic. The shinju tree has only appeared in times of great conflict. I think the tree represents war and it's effects. The word shinju means double suicide. So the tree basically says war is double suicide meaning if war is engaged the two opposing sides are committing suicide for nothing.

I'm guessing this ties into the future death of naruto and sasuke. Unless naruto breaks the cycle by allowing sasuke to proceed. Which might happen.

The tree can be broken down into two parts: the tree itself and the fruit. The tree itself represents the idea of peace and the fruit represents the power to ensure the peace. I'm guessing this is why the person who eats the fruit is granted immortality(to make sure everything stays in check)

Nice insight/research/findings (whatever you want to say), but I don't think any of them are going to die.

I don't either. I really think naruto is going to let sasuke do what he wants to do because that's all sasuke ever wanted really. He only wanted to act on his own free will. And if naruto does nothing then he will break the cycle.

That would entail Sasuke Killing the Gokage, which, if Naruto allowed that, would make him a criminal and a traitor to Konoha. Naruto should extract Indra's will and end Sasuke, or incapacitate him.

Also, mods frown upon double posting, You can edit your posts.

I meant the tree as a whole represents the effects of war. It's like mother nature's way of giving humans an opportunity to put an end to war.

The Shinju is a source of Creation. But, ever since the fruit was taken away, The Shinju transformed into the Juubi and brought Chaos.
