The latest chapter gave us something fairly interesting besides showcasing Naruto's new power and giving us a hint to Sasuke's new power as well. What more, it gave us Madara's power up and the high possibility of seeing more of Kaguya, the original chakra bearer. As we know, Hagoromo told us some about his late mother, but not a lot. The rest are thing we have gotten from legends and writing within the Narutoverse and as time has prove, not much of that can really be supported. So I am here to share my points of Kaguya, what happen to her and what will happen to her in the future.
As we know, Kaguya appeared out of nowhere, holding the power of the Byakugan on her side. The Byakugan is able to see chakra and almost 360 degrees around the user at the cost of some chakra. That is proof that chakra did indeed exist within at least Kaguya before she even ate the fruit of the Shinju, but because of her horns we cannot really call her a human either. However, Kaguya appears and eat the fruit of the Shinju, gaining a new and strong power. A power which she used to end the era of war and create peace, and thus she became known as a goddess. However, this didn't last forever, as nothing ever does. With time, people got to fear her and the power she had, they began to call her a demon. Fear is what causes wars, and distrust and thus wars would rage on after Kaguya's death. She was aware of this and planned ahead, so that she could create everlasting peace in the future.
She gave birth to two sons that could carry on her will should her main plan fail, but what she didn't count on was that her sons didn't share the same ideals as her. At some point on time, Kaguya fused with the Shinju or turned into a new tree once she died. There is only a single piece of evidence that supports this claim, but its pretty strong evidence. As we see teh Shinju speak to Madara, we see a image showing three eyes. Two Byakugans and one perfect Sharingan, the exact same as Kaguya.

That proofs that Kaguya is at least connected with the Juubi or Shinju as those are the only things from around her time that is connected to Madara currently. The Shinju is the being that symbolizes peace and life, while the Juubi is the being that symbolizes death and chaos. Its my ideal that Kaguya fused together with the Shinju and thus creating the Juubi itself. We also know that the Juubi raged chaos as soon as it awoken and that Hagoromo and his brother had to stop that to atone for Kaguya's sins. I think what Hagromo meant with that is that the Juubi was in fact his mother. Kaguya gained eternal life from fusing with the Shinju, so that she could arise once again to create ever lasting peace using the "Tsuki No Me". However, I think she lacked something in order to do that. I think that ironically she lacked the chakra she had previously stolen from the Shinju by eating its fruit. So once she fused with the Shinju she became the Juubi and tried to get back the chakra that was now shared amongst everyone thanks for herself and her sons.
However before she could to that, she fought her sons in a deadly battle and lost. We also know that this battle came with one more death, the death of Hagoromo's brother, though we don't know how he died. See this is how I think it happen. They both enter the fight against the Juubi, not knowing that it was their mother. In the middle of the fight they understand that they are fighting their mother to the death. Something Hagoromo accepts as a she was no longer the mother he had loved, but rather a monster that only wished for chaos. ( In the same way Kakashi saw Obito. ) However, his brother on the other hand wasn't like that. His brother cannot kill his mother, rather he starts to attack Hagoromo, to which Hagoromo defeats his brother quickly without killing him. Some times passes and Juubi still fights on with Hagoromo.
His brother sees that Hagoromo is going to lose the fight in the long run, and he don't wish to lose either his brother or mother. So he chooses to save both of them in a way at the cost of his own life. He uses the last of his power to seal the physical manifestation of his mother inside of his brother. Saving the life of his brother, stopping his mother and allowing his mothers spirit to pass into the after life, or so he thought at least. This is where my theory will have a time skip.
Now we have two beings that can be considered Kaguya, we have the Juubi which is the physical part of her and her will to go through with the Tsuki No Me plan. Then we have the spiritual part of her that has her mind and ideas, which later became know as the Reaper Death Seal jutsu. Kurama stated that the Juubi has no consciousness to speak of, however what it has is a will to go through with the Tsuki No Me plan that Kaguya originally wanted. Same as Black Zetsu is the will of Madara in a physical form. The Juubi/Shinju is the physical form of Kaguya's will to create peace her own way. While the RDS is the spiritual mindset of Kaguya that wishes to take back the chakra she stole as a way to pay for her sins. That is why the RDS steals the targets and the user's chakra and spirit. Its all a way to atone for her sins.
Kaguya is both the Juubi and the Reaper Death Seal, her mind and body is split apart and she lives on, trying to pay back what she stole and at the same time trying to go through with her plan and wish for everlasting peace.
