Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series Discussion

Just bought Persona 3 FES on the Playstation Store a few weeks ago, and recently started playing. One thing I gotta say is, the game is freaking fantastic! The soundtrack is upbeat and very catchy (although some people may be put off by the Japanese-y feeling to it, but doesn't bother me). The gameplay is simple, yet fun. Tartarus may seem boring at times, but going through each floor, anticipating the next baddies and bosses, is very fun. Dialogue is pretty good, and the interactions with other characters are a major plus, especially when listening to characters like Junpei and Kenji. I haven't beaten the game yet (still only about 10 hours in), but I heard the game takes over 60+ hours to beat, and even longer with the FES storyline.

I was talking about Persona 3 FES because it's the only game in the Persona series I have played so far, and will be getting Persona 4 Golden when it comes out. Now, I want you guys to discuss the Persona series, but only from 1-4, not the recently released Persona 4 Arena. What do you like about the games? What don't you like about them? Any favorite character/soundtracks?
