In my opinion I believe shikamaru now has to reasons to take a sasuke path. First he lost his teacher than now his just lost he father. I mean you seen what he did to get his revenge for asuma. Now he may not be as strong as sasuke(hurts me to say U_U) however he is as smart if not smarter in stratagies. And aways has the room to get stronger. Just a thought. No trolling

To be fair, he has been decent with Shikamaru in the past - what with the whole Asuma thing and Hidan fight. I don't know why he plays favorites, though. It's really damn annoying.

But seriously, while he does have reasons to go apeshit, I don't think it's in his personality to do so. Plus... well, the bad guys killed his dad and teacher so I don't see him walking a darker path any time soon. I guess it might, you know, bring that whole vengeance thing into play, but I don't seem him going as far as Sasuke.

I believe that ino and shikamaru will make sure that their fathers didn't die for nothing and i'm sure that shikamaru has a big plan that could help turn the tide of battle to their side afterall shikamaru is a genius and well all i'm saying is that madara and obito will realise that when itcomes to battle strategy shikamaru should not be underestimated besides what's to say that ino-chika-cho won't be of use afterall it was thanks to ino oh and hinata that the jubi missed when it was about to turn naruto,kakashi and co into dust not only that but we've seen how powerful choji is in giant butterfly mode and we saw how shikamaru used his intelligence to defea the seemingly immortal hidan and killed kakuzu once by destroying one of his hearts using hidan's curse jutsu plus choji held his ground against the gedo mazo which had the chakra of some of the tailed beasts stored inside so yeah i reckon that shikamaru will give madara and obito a lesson in real battle strategy.
