So I noticed not one person has made the attempt to save Yamato. The alliance knows where he is and could have sent people but nothing has been done yet or mentioned I feel shikamaru is going to be the one to do so he is the smart one.

Yeah I feel that shikamaru will look for him to diminish enemy's battle strength that's how smart he is.
