Shikamaru Hokage

Shikamaru is really smart but he doesn't have any great jutsu's. If he got more jutsu's that are very formidable than he would still be kind of not suited for it. He's to lazy. He would never accept it. He would probably recommend Naruto or someone else like Jiraya did. I don't see anywhere his shadow jutsu could go though. I don't think you can make extremely strong jutsu's out of shadow... He would be insanely strong at night though. Shadow's everywhere. He would be like a god. On the other hand everyone with shadow possesion could do that.
He is just not personallity fitted for the job.

He has flaws like power but I think he could still be a hokage he would know how to set up troops and what not

Don't you think he lacks some physical aspects that limit him? I mean, will he be able to protect his village if it is invaded?

no naruto would protect it shikamru would give the order and help get the innocent to a safe place

He is just not strong enough.

You people have to understand that a village's Kage represents and protects the village. Shikamaru is a genius but he can't protect the village.

The fact is you do need to be strong when it comes to being a Kage. Just having brains isn't enough. You need the whole package

That "he's too lazy" part is key, he got an invitation to the Twelve Guardians or whatever and declined because it was such a drag..that's definitively not an attitude for a future Hokage. If Shikamaru can be Hokage, so can Shikaku.

That sounds more to an adviser than Hokage to me..just saying. Tsunade protected the people AND gave orders to secure the weak and injured.

-He doesn't really have any techniques to be an elite shinobi yet
-He's lazy and I could see him being offered the job and reject it because of the amount of work it would require him to do

As for Naruto being Hokage and Shikamaru being his advisor, I can see many comical scenes involving Shikamaru and Naruto trying to run the daily activities of Konoha and failing miserably

Shikamaru would be the joke of the 5 Kage. Sure his planning is top notch but if he ends up in a match against the other Kage he'd be the first one to die. Raikage, Onoki, Gaara, and Mei are far past his level physically. If Shikamaru had greater fighting ability possibly, but it's like Itachi Namikaze said Shikamaru has to stop and plan while fighters like Minato and Itachi can do it all at the same time plus their battle strengths are much better.

I think a combination of Naruto's personality and his ability as a shinobi make him a good candidate for Hokage..especially one who would risk everything (and probably succeed) to protect his Village. I'd see Shikamaru more of a personal adviser. Y'know, like a Shizune.

I think he's going to become Hokage regardless if he saves him or not (although I also think he is going to save him..even if it means death for Sasuke) because..one dream that has been there since episode 1 is that of becoming Hokage..I've heard "I'll become Hokage one day, believe it!" one to many times for this not to happen.
