Shikaku would make for a good Hokage

His intelligence, perseverance, leadership, determination, and overall calmness makes him a great candidate for Hokage.. he should have been considered by the village a long time ago.. Thoughts?

Theres a lot more other great factors such as battle experience, diplomacy, and endurance. Shikaku fits in advisory post which is quite important too, thats why he stayed that way.

I agree.
And I hate when people use the 'he's too weak' excuse. Being put into Hokage office validates them to learning some forbidden and all exclusive jutsu that the Hokage and ONLY the Hokage are entitled to learning.

Nobody can say he would've been too weak, because that's just not true. And overall, even of he wasn't as wise as Hiruzen, he was undoubtedly the most intelligent character/strategizer for war we've seen so far. His son Shikamaru might as well be proof enough that he was a genius in battle too.
