No he isn't, he merely has a few characteristics of his father, plus it seems he spends more time with shikamaru then temari anyway, and what? Shikadai looks like Temari what are you talking about? His facial features resemble Temari more than Shikamaru, also in gaiden shikadai was quick to make fun of bolt and his antics something temari does a lot are sarcastic comments, I think people forgot who Temari is as a character

I don't know why Kishimoto doesn't do something as simple as combining the powers of the parents of the new generation of ninjas and give them new powers. Maybe give Shikadai some wind base attacks mixed in with his shadows, maybe have him shoot off his shadows sort of like a blast attack, idk, get creative.

This is nothing new. The parents of the characters we got to know were modified designs of their kids.

Tsuma is Kiba with long lashes and lipstick
Naruto is a fat-faced Minato / Fat face courtesy of Kushina
The Hyuuga Clan lol
Shikaku was Shikamaru with scars and facial hair
Gaara and Kanurou's father
Mikoto was Sasuke with long hair
Chouza looks like Chouji-just longer hair and age-lines
etc

While it's not grand, I think Kishi is slightly better than Kubo with designs. There's about 5 versions of Aizen in Bleach. lol Kubo is worse with the "Same-Face" Syndrome, imo. Least it seems more obvious with him.

Which is scary given he is only 12. If the series continues, he will get some wind jutsu and more Temari and Suna stuff. He already does stuff with shadow jutsu Shikamaru could not like that large circle. Every other kid is a clone anyway. Boruto is Naruto 2.0, ect.
