because the sharingan has many upgrades whereas the byakugan has none, byakugan users are good at taijutsu, but the sharingan can predict movements and gives the user an advantage even over someone who is good at taijutsu, especially if he/she is fast. the byakugan is better than the sharingan in insight only.

Sharigan is stronger than the Byakugan, the reason why, the abilities that it has, if u read the manga, it would show you about the uchiha clan, Byakugan may have the 360 view, but the sharigan can see and predict the attackers moves and able to use/counter justsus. If you read the manga, it should tell you in detail about the sharingan, there still aint a full form of it.

well so far that we know the byakugan doesnt have any upgrades....im curious if the byakugan is in fact an extension of the ms sharingan, once the user loses their sight, maybe its not lost it just goes away for a little bit, i mean when the hyugas have their byakugan activated their eyes have strained vessels all around their eyes. What i think happened was the son of the so6p that hade sharingan became blind from extended use and he married a hyuga ancestor or had an illicit affair and the byakugan was born. thats just my thought, and yeah im sure ppl can point out several holes in my plot no jutsu but you gotta admit that it sounds appealing!!!:shrug::noc:
We don't know that the byakugan can't evolve.
To the OP: In most ways the byakugan is still the superior sensor. The problem with the byakugan in comparison to the current and upgraded sharingan, is that the byakugan is only a sensor.

I like the byakugan better but it is very weak when compared to the abilities granted by the sharingan.
as you said, there are holes in your theory, I guess the idea is appealing only if upgrades are introduced, if not, if it's an extension of the MS, in which case implies that it lost or didn't get any past abilities of the sharingan, including MS abilities, but only insight. then it's second rate, a watered down version, in which case, sharingan>>>>>>byakugan. I'd prefer it not be connected that way, it's like its admitting it is far inferior. now if it got some major upgrades, that'd be different, it has the potential to be pretty epic then

at ANY RATE we ALL KNOW that orochimaru was not going all out...even if he was going for the body...but that my friend...is another thread all in it's own.
back on topic*************i used to love the sharingan when it wasn't such a big deal, as opposed to the byakugan when neji was gettin all the hype...and then...kishi let his fanboy side out U_U
