It's the very most basic form of the Sharingan and its abilities reflect that. It can see the color of chakra, track slightly higher speeds, handle copying slight movements but not hand seals, and the ability to see through very basic genjutsu.

Expanding on some of that, the 1T can only see through D-rank visual genjutsu and upon completion of this training you'll be able to see through c-rank visual genjutsu. By see through, you will be able to detect the fact that the genjutsu is just that; an illusion where you'll then be able to surge chakra to your eyes and passively break through the genjutsu.
Now, you still need to legitamately describe how you deduced that it was a genjutsu and not simply saying "My Sharingan allowed me to realise this was a genjutsu". You'll have to go through the information your sharingan is giving you and then how you used said information to deduce the genjutsu.

What information does the sharingan give you? The alternate color of chakra surrounding your vision/senses?

The Sharingan has two main abilities, seeing the color of chakra and perceiving images with extreme precision and speed. These two abilities are further developed and allow for the copying of most jutsu, reactionary abilities, and seeing others' chakra color (which can show an element). Genjutsu's clouding of the user's brain to affect their vision can also be detected by the user noticing the difference in color around them. Genjutsu that affect other senses are more difficult to deduce through the sheer power of the Sharingan however. The Sharingan can also serve as a conduit for the transfer of chakra through eye contact between the user and the target of the genjutsu.

Right, so the 2T training is broken into two distinct stages; the first is Hide-and-seek.
*Shinta detonates a smoke bomb by throwing it at his feet, immediately covering his and his students location in a cloud of thick, purple smoke.*
Find me.
*Shinta then uses this cover to race off into a thick forest, finding a hollowed tree stump to hide in, covering the top with moss and leaves to ensure his location remains secure.*
Used the following to escape the cloud of smoke:
