Coincidentally it seemed Kakashi had arrived way to early to this lesson. He had been used to arriving late and ready with an excuse on hand. He smiled shortly as he imagined how Obito would handle the situation. Kakashi summoned his pack of hounds and sat down quietly reading his favorite book. While it seemed he was distracted, he was in fact quite vigilant especially since he had already read this particular book several times. He had previously written down some important notes for his teacher and placed it on the tree trunk he had been sitting at with a kunai.

(Doujutsu: Genjutsu Sharingan) - Eye Technique: Copy Wheel Eye Illusion

Note: I would GREATLY appreciate any knowledge you can impart me related to sharingan no matter how basic or advanced it is. My goal at the end of this lesson is to have the capacity to teach others in sharingan (when the necessary qualifications are met like sensei, etc.). Hopefully at your level. Hue hue hue.

Another day, another student to teach. This time Shayde had been asked to impart the sacred wisdom of his Clan, and their Kekkei Genkai, upon an outsider of the Clan. Despite the fact that this student was not of the Uchiha Clan, the would-be student was one of his elders, even though he wasn't that much older. Kakashi Hatake was his student, so as Shayde arrived he gave him the respect he was due, as one of his elders, and as a Konohagakure shinobi, even if his headband wore the emblem of the Hidden Cloud these days.

"Greetings Kakashi-Sensei. Lovely day we're having, isn't it?"

As he greeted Kakashi, he couldn't help but gush over his Ninken, astounded by the variety in size, breed and even their own personalities. Truly they had been raised with care and affection, speaking volumes for Kakashi's nurturing nature, and capabilities as a teacher. Shayde then spied the note left on the trunk of the tree, held in place by the kunai. Upon reading over it';s contents, Shayde was up to speed on how far Kakashi had come in his endeavours to learn the secrets of the Sharingan.

"Hm... Seems like you're on the verge of mastering your borrowed eye... Okay, I think I can handle this from here on out. But..."

As Shayde said the last part of his sentence, he closed his eyes, before opening them a moment later, revealing his own Sharingan. Three Tomoe orbited his pupils, same as Kakashi's permanently activated Sharingan, an unfortunate side effect of it being a gifted trinket, and not activated by his own blood. Shayde looked Kakashi directly in his eye(s), as he continues.

"This ain't gonna be easy on you."

Upon stating this, Shayde uses the mutual eye contact between he and Kakashi to place him under a Genjutsu wherein, everything seems virtually identical to reality, at least for a moment. To Kakashi's eyes it would appear as though he were still surrounded by his dogs, Shayde standing near him, training info in hand, as he gave Kakashi the grim warning of what was to come, and in reality that is what was currently happening, his canines unaware of his being placed under an illusion. However, after a moment or two, Kakashi saw the calm, peaceful tranquil environment of their training ground slip away, replaced with what could only be described as it's total opposite. Kakashi found himself in the one place he would never think himself to be in. The shoes of a true Uchiha... Within this illusion the defied reality, Kakashi witnessed as dozens of Uchiha Clansmen, Shayde's Clansmen, were slaughtered in front of him, before he was next. He watched as droves of "his kin" were slaughtered one by one, before he was finally killed himself. He experienced this sensation, this experience, this traumatic event, over, and over, and over again, each time from the perspective of another Uchiha of the massacre, some of which he was familiar with from his younger days. This happened again and again and again and again, until there was only one face left. Shayde's. Shayde was one of the lucky few to have bared witness to the events, and survive, and now, thanks to the marvel that was the Uchiha's unique Genjutsu, Kakashi was too. Upon experiencing this illusion, Kakashi was then released from the Genjutsu, and although the mental damage wasn't enough to seriously harm him, he still reflexively jolted up, as though he was waking from a bad dream. Shayde then took a step back, then joined his Sensei, sitting on the ground a few meters away.

"That was one of the Uchiha's Genjutsu. In fact, it's one of our most diverse Genjutsu at our disposal. It is a... Well, it's "Multi-purpose tool" that allows us to, upon establishing mutual visual contact with our target, meaning both parties are looking into one another's eyes, place them into a Genjutsu of our choosing. As you just saw-- No, experienced there, it can be used to effectively share vivid experiences or almost akin to memories in their detail, with another. But it's got virtually infinite other uses, only limited by reason and logic, as well as your own personal creativity and imagination. You could use it to make your opponent believe that a sword they wield is made of cardboard, or that you just launched an attack at them, forcing them to counter. You could make them believe their allies have suddenly become enemies, or they are bound by some form of restraint. Depending on the nature of the illusion, it can even inflict serious mental pain and damage upon the target, though of course it's not deadly as a physical attack. You're lucky I kept my usage simple, if I put more Chakra into it, I could've seriously hurt you... Anyway. Consider what you just saw as a kind of acceptance into the Uchiha, in some small way. You possess an eye steeped in those experiences I, one the survivors of the massacre, also possess. That eye of yours may have seen it's own fair share of pain in it's lifetime, the advanced stage tells me that much, but now it holds something so much... More. It holds the memory of that night. The faces of the fallen seared into it. The sounds and sight as they were slain. Those were my visions of that night, but now they're yours. Don't let their deaths mean nothing. You may not carry the weight of our name, but you carry that eye just as well as one who does. You know, you never did tell me how you acquired it, but I won't press you for the details. Anyway, if you have any questions about the Genjutsu I just displayed, hell, even about the Sharingan in general, shoot, otherwise, we can get right down to business."

Shayde waited to see if Kakashi had any questions. As he did, he decided to pet and familiarize himself with Kakashi's Ninken, Shayde himself being very familiar with dogs and canines.

Shayde waited to see if Kakashi had any questions. As he did, he decided to pet and familiarize himself with Kakashi's Ninken, Shayde himself being very familiar with dogs and canines.
Kakashi stared on as the illusion shifted to that of the befallen Uchiha. He had remembered the sight if the scattered bodies everywhere...even of the innocent children. Thanks to Shayde (I assume we had met previously somewhere or your name was mentioned somewhere; first time meeting you YOU though) he was able to gain a different perspective. Yes, he had helped settle Itachi into the ANBU so he was familiar with the politics at the time. It was quite shocking to have seen the events unravel but nonetheless it was something he himself had suspected would happen. He could see the burden in Itachi's eyes. His expression was that of conflicting feelings. Like him, Itachi only wished to do what was right not what was convenience. Kakashi felt he himself understood Itachi's sentiments though at the time he couldn't grasp such knowledge as he himself was still processing his own grief. As he experienced each different perspective, Kakashi was unsure what message Shayde was trying to convey but based on previous interactions with other Uchiha, true Uchiha, he surmised that he was angered by his gift...Obito's gift. He didn't feel hate but rather, he saw Sasuke in him. Ever so full of grief masked by his blind pride for his people that were no more. Over the years, the few Uchiha that did survive and interacted with Kakashi, displayed an anger towards him for having a "stolen" eye yet being able to display a proficiency with it. Just one eye mind you.

Kakashi stayed quiet. His gift was in his observational skills and being able to use that knowledge to understand the challenges ahead.

"....."

Kakashi had so much to say but unlike others he already knew their answer. The root to Shayde's anger seemed to be his inability to influence the events of his people. The more Kakashi heard Shayde speak, the more he understood him. After all, it seemed like the two were in fact quite similar to the point of being his twin...perhaps. Regardless, he was here to learn and ask to his hearts content. But Kakashi had to be tactful with his questions as giving any indication of not being knowledgeable could have an unintended effect on the young sensei and displaying too much knowledge could diminish his confidence, However one thing Kakashi made clear was that he wasn't above asking for help.

"My apologies for underestimating your skill, sensei. As far as the lesson is concerned, Sharingan-induced genjutsu is among the most powerful abilities in the world but also one that comes with great responsibility. The Uchiha are blessed with a unmatched proficiency in its use along with possessing extra gifts like above average intelligence and strong chakra. I would count myself as a unique variable despite not being an Uchiha.

Before we go more in-depth, I want you to understand that my intentions aren't to belittle your suffering. I am here like any other to seeking knowledge which I do not possess or at least in its entirety. I appreciate you allowing me a unique perspective or rather "perspectives". So while I may have not been there to see the carnage I was there to clean up afterward. I do not wish such a thing on anyone even on my enemy. I have my guesses as to what was the cause of all of it but we aren't here to discuss politics. So, forgive me if I say to spare me the drama."

Kakashi steps up towards the newly branded sensei and places his hand on his shoulder and says kindly to him, probably more kind than anyone has ever said to him in his whole life.

"Shayde, your life is your own. Don't spend your life hating over what you can't control. Embrace your weaknesses for they allow you to remember the one thing most people forget...you are human."

Kakashi smiles warmly and walks back to the tree.

"Oh yeah...those aren't my dogs. I just disguised them as mine."

Kakashi does a handseal and dissipates his illusion revealing stitched dolls made to look like Kakashi's ninken.

^___^

"I have no questions on the technique by the way. All I needed was a demonstration to grasp how it works and such. I am curious about one thing though. As one with the sharingan, we can see through the illusion or would we be asked to perform this technique to dispel it?"

*It's training so lets have some fun. Plus the last bit about the illusion sounds like something funny Kakashi would do no?

OOC: I'm RPing under the assumption that my Uchiha and your Kakashi were at least acquainted, due to our time spent together in Konoha. If you think otherwise, say so and I'll play along. Just seemed to me like the best route to take for the RP when I was writing it. :p

Realizing how dramatic and brooding he was being upon being pointed out by Kakashi, Shayde dropped the act.

"Sorry if I seemed a bit cryptic, or heck, even hostile there. I don't really envy or hate you, or that eye you've got. I just wanted to see what it was like to act seriously. Clearly I'm a poor actor, and should stick to straight up teaching. Almost had you too... Hahaha!! Oh well, guess I can't hide my true nature. Anyway, back to business."

Once Kakashi approached Shayde, placing his his hand on his shoulder in a manner that friends do when they want a tête-à-tête, he listened as Kakashi gave him rather sound advice. Or it would be if Shayde was the kind of Uchiha who went for the whole "Curse of Hatred" malarkey.

"You know, if I did let the events of that night eat away at me, I might not be the man I am today. I would probably be holed up in some hideout somewhere, plotting my revenge against the Leaf Village, and the one who slaughtered the Uchiha... But I didn't, and I'm not. Am I sad about the events that lead up to their massacre, like the planned coup, as well as the massacre itself? Of course. I couldn't do anything at the time, cause I was still just a kid. But now, I'm one of the few remaining Uchiha left, so it's up to me, and others like me, yourself included now, to help guide what little of the Uchiha remain. There are other options now. We don't need to rebel to be heard. We don't need to be the "Clan steeped in Hatred" any more."

Choking up slightly at his own thoughts and words, Shayde soon got back on track with his Kakashi's training. One Kakashi revealed that he himself had placed a Genjutsu on Shayde, revealing his "Ninken" to be nothing more than plush toys, Shayde gave a wry smile.

"So, I just spent the last 5 minuets petting a stuffed animal? *Sigh* That's kinda cruel, y'know."

After a moment of scratching his head in embaressment, he answered Kakashi's question.

"If you're talking about our Kekkei Genkai's ability to "pierce" through Genjutsu, no, you don't have to use that technique to achieve it. It's more like something that the Sharingan just does, you know? Kind of hard to put into words, to be frank... Hold on, I think I have some notes here..."

(OOC: It's a passive action that, once you've logically deduced that you're in a Genjutsu, allows you to simply break through it with your Sharingan. For a 3T Sharingan, this only works on B-Rank visual Genjutsu and below. (This is explained in the Sharingan Rules, which are linked through the Bio Quick Access Thread.) Also, that last part is especially important. The Sharingan's ability to pierce through Genjutsu only works on Genjutsu that are visual in nature. So if someone uses a Genjutsu against you that makes you see a field of flowers, you can break through it, but if their Genjutsu were to, say, affect your sense of hearing, bombarding you with sounds and stuff, you couldn't just power through it, since the nature of that Genjutsu isn't visual. I know it's a lot to remember, but it's very simple when you remember the key facts, like the rank limit, the fact that the Gen must be visual, that you have to figure out you're in a Gen to start with, etc.)

"Okay, now that all that is out of the way, let's get right down to it. Since we've covered the basics of Sharingan Genjutsu, and most Sharingan Genjutsu follow the same logic as the generic "Sharingan: Genjutsu" technique, we can run down the rest with relative ease, pointing out the key characteristics of each Genjutsu as we go on. And, of course, should you have any more questions, please ask, as I won't leave here until you're completely satisfied, and sure that you've learned everything you want to learn about the Sharingan."

As he was finishing his last statement, he reached into his back pocket and withdrew a number of scrolls, each containing the secrets of one of the Uchiha's signature Genjutsu. He then tossed them to Kakashi, and waited for him to read them all.

(Doujutsu: Chuubo no Yuuku) – Eye Technique: Paralyzing Fear
Type: Supplementary

The figure will then grab hold of the target and then will cover them in black threads, leaving them paralyzed for a period of time.

Note: Must have 3 Tomoe Sharingan to use and paralyzing effects last 1 turn.

"Give all of those Genjutsu a read over, and then, in your own time, explain each one by one, detailing any key features or notes about them, how you would perform them, etc. I'll listen to your analysis, and make any necessary additions, as well as answering any questions you have about them. If that's too many, just say and I'll take the number down to 3 or so. Only reason I'm giving you that many is cause, like I said, most Sharingan Genjutsu follow the same train of logic throughout, though there are some exceptions that may deviate from the norm, like the kind who don't require eye contact to perform. But I'll leave all that for you to elaborate on. Whenever you're ready, chop-chop."

Shayde then stood there, at the base of the tree, surrounded by stuffed dolls, at what appeared to be the most depressing tea party ever...
