Sharingan ruined the concept of genjutsu

The sharingan possessing inescapable genjutsu and being able to release from any genjutsu ruined the concept of genjutsu. Remember when Kurenai was the Top genjutsu user that was when genjutsu was interesting and when they introduced sharingan I felt like Kishimtoto knew there was no point in developing genjutsu types after that.

Well, yeah tbh. Dojutsu are super hack and unreasonable.

The Sharingan can:

Copy Ninjutsu and Taijutsu techniques/movements
Counter Speed, further levels has precog where you can predict movements based on muscle contractions
Counter, Release, and Perform Genjutsu

Upgraded Sharingan has all this +:

MS Abilities
Susano'o

.... Like, this is shit is actually broken. I miss the old days when Dojutsu didn't supplement your power 100%, and were just small additions to your moveset.

But the power scale tipped.

Yup, after itachi, kurenia pretty much became useless.Sakura's "affinity for genjutsu" never became a real thing, probably because of that.

True, but there’s was always someone in a team that could dispel genjutsu.

I'm more concerned about how irellevant genjutsu is rather than how weak it is tbh. It's almost never used, and whenever it is, it's only used to give a character the feat of being able to completely dispel it, making it irellevant.

What happen when they say "Disrupt the chakra flow" or "inflict yourself a pain"? It seems the concept/counter-move never been applied consistently in the manga.

Its either you need to be a perfect jin or Sharingan user.

Itachi and kurenai has equal genjutsu skills in databook. When kurenai initiated her genjutsu you could clearly see itachi copying it with his sharingan and repelling it back to her . GEnjutsu can still destroy an uchiha with a sharingan if he/she is unable to copy it in time or he/she cannot see through the genjutsu in time. Dojutsu didn't actually make anyone immune , kishi knew genjutsu was so hax and eliminated it's usage in part 1 even danzo with ten sharingan including Shisui sharingan couldn't even see through Sasuke's genjutsu not to mention he also had wood cells powerup and Sasuke's genjutsu was weaker as "the land is far below the sky" according to danzo. Imagine itachi using his genjutsu to it's ultimate level , no one would be breaking out of it atleast not before they get killed. Not to mention chakra Beasts like Kisame and Raikage couldn't break it. Not to mention ocular genjutsu is even more potent than normal genjutsu.

Just bad story telling on Kishi's part. Series should be renamed "Naruto: Ocular Powers" or some shit like that. I mean Obito with DMS basically destroys Hokage Kakashi but when they were kids, Kakashi was more talented and skilled than the former.

That's kind of the point. The comparison was painfully obvious that a Sharingan user's genjutsu trumps that of a genjutsu expert without a Sharingan.

Sharingan is indeed broken AF.

I mean you can literally rewrite death you loose an eye for it? No worries Hashi cells and replacement eyes were like going to get a flat tire changed. A minor inconvenience.

It literally has a genjutsu you cannot break unless you are related by blood? Really?

How is anyone suppose to honestly win when a single character can:

Create a flame that burns hotter than the surface of the sun and won't extinguish unless the caster dispels it.(Amateratsu)

Created a chakra avatar that provide superior protection and can take on armies and level mountains.(Susanoo)

Again a genjutsu that cannot be broken unless you are a blood relative.(Tsukuyomi)

Rewriting death.(Izanagi)

Rewriting someone's will to your desire (Kotoamatsukami)

Putting someone in an endless loop of a genjutsu until they accept their true selves (Iganami)

And how do you get all this? By being an emotional train wreck and stealing other people's eyes.

The only genjutsu that seemed even remotely on par was the frog genjutsu and maybe 2nd Mizukage 's Clam genjutsu but that's about it.

Genjutsu as a concept was pretty unhelpful to the plot before sharingan genjutsu was a thing. I think he planned to stop it's development well before MS genjutsu.

It pretty much comes down to this. Genjutsu is boring, overpowered/difficult to powerscale and 1 dimensional.

That's not it , it's not boring bcuz you can see the fight in illusion. It's not like the victim would be shivering standing there. What happens inside will be shown.

Basic Sharingan genjutsu can be broken it isn't OP at all. Just stronger than average genjutsu.

Hashirama DNA don't stop blindness if u use it's light on genjutsu(Izanagi/Izanami)

Everything with MS is broken but not everyone have a Sharingan let alone MS.
