The Sharingan is precision, one look and you burn with an inextinguishable flame, one eye contact and your mind is destroyed, Susanoo is a perfect attack and a perfect defense, fend off almost anything and kills you with a single punch. Sasuke was anbu leader with 13, he defeated Orochimaru with the sharingan only while Pain had a tough fight with Jiraiya.

Why is there still this need to separate the Rinnegan and Sharingan as if they aren't directly related to one another? The Rinnegan is the form the eye takes after going beyond the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan.

Nagato and Tobi's apparent inability to use the Shairngan's powers through the Rinnegan doesn't tell us much at this point - neither received the Rinnegan naturally. Madara did, and he can use all of the powers just fine.
