Actually, giving it some more thought, Obito's eye was also transplanted. Madara must have placed it in that artificial body. So there it is.. But if it's an actual Uchiha who loses an eye, I still think he can revert back to normal.
This. I agree with your thread OP but this is the only exception. Kakashi, Danzo, and Nagato can't turn off their dojutsu since it was implanted. Obito can turn it off since he's an original Uchiha and the eye wasn't implanted. He leaves it on because Uchihas don't use as much chakra on using the Sharingan and because he has Senju DNA will means using his MS takes little to no toll on Obito. Shisui had his eye active because he was going to give it to Itachi so that he could use it in the future

This isn't a theory. It's manga fact doujutsu stay active on once removed and given to someone not of the same clan. This has happened with byakugan and rinnegan

i made a thread about this a while back...

but obito first opened his sharingan at 2 tomoe...
and he woke up with it on....
kakashi cant turn his off because it was transplanted while it was activated...

Obito cant because I thought maybe Madara took it out, then put it back in while he was sleeping.
and did something to it. he does have zetsu on that sharingan side of his body..

who knows why really ?? we cant , but great for you to notice that :win:

Regarding the pool full of sharingan eyes, thats probably to show these were Sharingan eyes, rather than normal eyes floating about...

Kakashi and Obito, you realy only see Obito with his eye on close up when Sharingan is active as during normal time, its just shaded, so there is no evidence it's still active, or can you prove it? also regaridng Kakashi, wouldn't it make sense he's just covering his scar? and only unveil it when he's about to use it? although it's a valid theory, one can question if it is infact correct, as both these people have never showed their eye, it's always somehow covered... if you think, but hey, now he always have his Sharingan on, it is because they're locked in combat during the war, so really no point in turning it off?
