Has anyone else noticed that both Kakashi and Obito have the only Sharingan that are ALWAYS active. We have never seen Tobi/Obito without his right eye activated(when visible), meaning that it is ALWAYS active. I assume the same goes for Kakashi as we have never seen his left eye inactive. It is likely that the reason he covers his left eye is because his chakra reserves are too low to maintain a Sharingan activated at all times. Danzo also kept his Sharingans' covered, likely for the same reasons as Kakashi.

However every other Uchiha with both eyes in the Manga can revert back to their "natural" eyes in order to conserve their chakra.

Also look at this:

Once Shisui's eye was taken by Danzo, his remaining eye has only been shown in it's active state; including when on Itachi's Crow. Now keep in mind that when Shisui met Itachi for the last time, he had no reason to have his Sharingan active, again coming to the conclusion that it was forced to be active once the two sharingan's bond was broken.

If that doesn't convince you then look here:

I know this is a little hard to make out(best image I could find) but, this is from Obito's lab where he transplanted Itachi's eyes into Sasuke. As you can see, all of these Sharingans have clearly been separated from their owners, but most importantly, they are ACTIVE, in their three tomoe form. Even without a host or chakra source they remain active at all times.

For these reasons I have come to the conclusion that once a pair of Sharingan's have been separated from each other, they will be forced to remain active in their 3 tomoe form at all times.

Also, What does this say about Obito's chakra level? Obito never covers his eye in order to conserve his chakra, also keep in mind that this is even before he received the Rinnegan.

Does this mean that Obito's chakra levels are vastly superior to any other Uchiha's? Even Madara has been shown to revert back to his "natural" eyes in the middle of a fight in order to conserve chakra.

What do you guys think?

Also, Yay for my 1000th Post!! =D

Obito has senju DNA hence why he never covers his eye to reserve chakra, Think of it as how Nagato is an Uzamaki meaning he has alot of chakra so there for he can keep the Rinnegan active for a very long period of time.

Yea, that's pretty much what I was thinking, I was just curious if anyone else had some other ideas. Senju DNA is a hell of a drug lol.

I think it's right to assume, that in order to be able to use the sharingan powers after removing an eye, the eye must be active at all time. Like you show with that lab image. Kakashi, Nagato, Danzou, are all prove of that.

But when it's an actual uchiha, who loses one eye, does it still count? You use that picture of Shisui as "evidence", however, it's invalid, because he was just about to give his last eye to Itachi, thus it had to be active. Would had been smart to show the entire page...

So no, you can't conclude on this topic yet. Obito has his active at all time, for good reasons..

Obito is an Uchiha he doesnt need so much chakra to keep it activeated, Kakashi on the other hand aint an Uchiha so kakashi's situation is kind of screwed up
No, I don't think that it is because he is an Uchiha, otherwise Sasuke and every other Uchiha would walk around with their Sharingan active at all times. As others have mentioned, I think it is because of his Senju DNA.

Actually, giving it some more thought, Obito's eye was also transplanted. Madara must have placed it in that artificial body. So there it is.. But if it's an actual Uchiha who loses an eye, I still think he can revert back to normal.

There was no point in showing the whole page as the other panels of Shisui were with his eye already removed. However yes it may be possible that Shisui activated his eye in order to give to Itachi, but I don't think so. When Shisui gave Itachi his eye, it was immediately after his battle with Danzo, thus meaning that his chakra had more than likely been completely depleted. I doubt Shisui would just let someone take his eye without a good fight. Simply Activating the MS takes a large amount of chakra and I don't think that he would have had enough after his battle with Danzo.

You can't make any assumptions on that, lol. I can think of more than 100 scenarios, where Danzo stole that eye without fighting, that are just as likely. That said, the image does suggest, that there was some kind of minor struggle. But from there and to assume an all out fight, it's just guessing.

Shisui could have been in Danzo's root, so Danzo had his seal placed on him. Or Danzo could have walked to him simply to talk, and placed some paralyzing seal on him (similar to that he put on Sasuke) without Shisui realizing.
Danzo isn't the type to start by saying: "I want your eye, let's fight".....

But as I said above, we can conclude on Obito, because his eye is placed in the artificial body, so it makes perfect sense.

This is the reason kakashi keeps his eye covered

And also this bit of Info
" However, because he is not an Uchiha, Kakashi is unable to deactivate it, keeping it covered until needed so not to risk his Sharingan using up a massive amount of chakra that would force him to take an extended bed rest. Because of this, Kakashi only relies on it when he feels it is an absolute necessity."

Lol, try rereading my post. That is exactly the reason I stated, to conserve chakra.
